OK... I was diagnosed in September and started Methotrexate in November (10mg) along with Prednisolone (10mg). At my January appt my rheumy said if I felt OK I could increase the Methotrexate to 15mg and start decreasing Pred slowly. So far only the pred is keeping any pain at bay because as soon as I start decreasing I start swelling. At my March appt she said I should stay on 7.5mg pred and if no real progress I could go to 17.5 Methotrexate. Thats where I am today. How long should it take the Methotrexate to kick in. The pain has been in my hands and wrists for the last 18 months and now my feet & toes are starting. When will I start to feel the effect?
Everyone's Body reacts differently to medications. There is alot of great posts here on this forum. Take some time and look through all of the links, I believe there are links to medications you should research, as well as posts in RA forum, which has alot of info.
