Blurred vision and meds | Arthritis Information

I seem to get the weirdest things that happen to me ever since I got RA.  So today for a few seconds I had the vision in my left eye go out of focus.  This happened 3 times in the course of a minute.  I called my RA Dr. who said no it is not a med. side effect ( I suspect enbrel).  He told me to call my eye dr. since I take plaquenil.  I went to see him and he did a through eye check up.  He assured me my optic nerve was fine and all veins, etc. looked normal.  I was also worried about stroke and he said he saw no signs of that.  of course, it really shock me up and now I am home reading about strokes and scared to death.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Only the "scared to death" part. I quit reading about all of the bad things that can happen. Did you know that 42 thousand people died in traffic accidents last year? You are more likely to die from an auto accident than from rheumatoid arthritis drugs. I will say though, now that i know I'm mortal, every little thing that is even a little bit out of the ordinary with my body, I get worried. Oh yeah, something more to worry about. Worrying is bad for your health. Drive careful. You are fine. Relax. You will know if something is terribly wrong and then just go to the hospital. You're fine. Relax. Seriously. Just breath. All of us here have been taken these drugs and very few have had any serious effects.

levlarry2010-07-19 18:25:20do not call your RD or any other doctor when questioning what a medication is doing to you.

Call Your Pharmacist!!

I had an episode w/ naproxen where I lost my peripheral vision.  I called my pharmacist and he researched while I waited and said... Yep, one in one hundred thousand have an issue such as this...........

call your pharmacist.
Very good point, Babs. Wish I'd thought of that.
