Less Pain in OA With Regular Exercise | Arthritis Information
Patients with knee or hip osteoarthritis (OA) who stick to a recommended exercise program and increase their overall physical activity have less pain and more improvement in physical functioning, according to a Dutch observational study.
Thanks for this post! I am a physical therapist and would also recommend exercise for most arthritis pain. There is great research on the use of exercise to minimize arthritis pain. Unfortunately most people are afraid to exercise. If that sounds like you, go see a physical therapist who can help design an appropriate exercise program for you.

I have RA, but a very painful foot sent me for xrays yesterday. the doc said it was OA in the 5th metatarsal. She told me to stop running and stay off my foot. How can they tell it is OA and not RA from an x ray? The physio thought it was a stress fracture.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">
