Severe pain in muscles around eyes | Arthritis Information

HI,

My wife has had RA for many years, for the past 8 years she has suffered from such bad pain in the muscles around her eyes that she cannot look at anything for more than a glance. She says it first came on after reading for too long so it seems to be an eye strain that has become permanent.
This is not the usual dry eyes etc, this is the muscles surrounding.
Does anyone have any information that may help as the doctors either try to tell her its the usual RA symtoms or basically say she is imagining it.

Thanks
Hi Magnus, welcome to the board  - and awful that your wife has this problem with her eyes and can't get any relief.  I have no idea what that might be, but someone else on here may well  have.  My thinking is that it may be well worthwhile for her to see a opthalmologist (eye specialist) if her RA doctors aren't able to come up with any answers.  Hope that she can get some relief soon.I would definitely make an appointment w/ an ophthalmologist! asap!

I am having issues with my eyes... glaucoma... one symptom is that I get a headache in the mornings and at late day... it sits right behind and above my eyes..this headache..

RUSH.. don't walk to your nearest Ophthalmologist now , please
I can't top the advice that has been given to you.  Wishing her an answer to this along with great results.
