That must have been a beautiful thing to see!  You described it beauitifully too - I can just see it!!  I think that butterflies are amazing creatures, and they just seem to appear when we sometimes need a thing of beauty to remind us how good life is.  Thank you for that Snow! That is awesome...not sappy at all! Oh my, what a sight that must have been.  Did you take any pics?  Thank you for sharing this
Snow.
It does sound amazing and wonderful. I love butterflies. I really have not seen many this year.

I guess I never thought about them hiding in the shade. It is glad to know they are somewhere. I have really missed them.

Thanks for sharing that!
that sounded so wonderful, Snow!!

I have a butterfly bush outside my dining room... it is always full of many different beautiful butterflies, sometimes some paper wasps and some humming birds too......  I could sit there for hours..
The Greek believe a human soul is born each time a butterfly emerges from his cocoon.. and the Irish believe they are the souls waiting to go to purgatory...   who knows.. they are beautiful..

Thanks for sharing Snow - I love those moments.  I also have learned to stop and smell the roses where ever they may present themselves.

I once was watering my rhododendrons during a pretty severe drought, on a very hot day, when I realized a chickadee on a nearby tree watching me with great interest.  He kept looking at me, then back at the spray, then finally with a "pip peep!" he jumped into the rhododendrons and had himself a glorious cool shower, twirling, jumping, "chick chick a dee"-ing and cleaning his feathers.  I just stood transfixed, as a second and then third chickadee jumped in.  It lifted my heart for weeks!
