Drafts and room temperature. | Arthritis Information

Does anyone else ever have trouble with drafts in a room?
I can sometimes feel the slightest little draft and it's very annoying.

And...

Is anyone else really bothered by room temperature? For example, when it's 60 degrees outside and the building you're in has the heat on which just makes it feel like 90 degrees. For me that brings on a flare up. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me or maybe old age?

Not with drafts, but I'm always sensitive to cold.  I'm the one with two sweaters when everyone else is in shirt sleeves. A change in temperature and a drop in the barometer bring on flares for me.I'm also sensitive to cold...doesn't bring on any flares though.I have always been hot natured, but as my RA has progressed I have become more sensitive to the cold. This winter has been by far the worst. The cold makes my whole body ache. If it is really cold, I am absolutly miserable. This spring season of little league baseball with the evening games and practices has been murder! I have been bringing blankets with me when I sit in the bleachers!I need the heat, cold makes me flair.

I am always cold...like LindaK , everyone is wearing their t-shirts and light jackets, I have on 3 layers of clothing and a winter coat and scarf.

When the barometer changes, I am in so much pain. I would be much better off to live in a relatively stable environment but I don't.

Oh well, my daughter is getting all A's and my sis is right here to help. What can I say?

And yes when I go from a warm building to cold outside or a cold building to warm outside it does make a difference and takes me awhile to get used to. Seems the pain is always there.

I'm always cold also. Heat feels good to me. Good thing I live in the desert.I am overly sensitive to cold as well. Luckily, my employer keeps
little heaters over the building so in meetings (where rooms are kept
cool) I move the heater over so its close to my feet - its one of the
best feelings in the world.

I use a heating pad to warm up the foot of my bed at night. I live in
a relatively warm climate (South Carolina) - I would hate to think
about living where it is really cold.

I had not been as sensitive until about 8 months ago - I can get the
"shakes" if it gets too bad - when I'm tired and cold usually brings
tremors.

Sometimes drafts feel like they move directly through me. I'm 40 - I
thought I was supposed to experience hot flashes!

I am sensitive to cold.  Especially wind.  It shoots right to the bone.  I sleep with an electric blanket now every night, no matter the weather.  It helps me stay comfortable. I get so cold that I get the chills! Then I start to wish that one of my hot flashes would start to warm me up. My heat bill has been unusally high as I've been running my heater alot. I can't wait until the temp gets up into the high 90's / low 100's. Now that's my kind of weather.
When I was working we had these huge sterilizers and I would place a bath blanket inside one of them to get it nice and toasty. It felt soooo good around the shoulders. Then when I was working by myself, I would move the backtable near the sterilizer and do my work. Lord, I miss that sterilizer!
Now that I'm not working, I can't get enough layers of clothes on.

MarisaThanks for the replys. It helps to know I'm not alone in that.

Take care and keep warm.

Wishing for warm dry weather.

Aurora, I have alot of family in Palermo! I have never been there but some of them have come to visit here. My cousin and his fiance just spent all of February here from Palermo. Who knows, we may be related! I DO HOPE THIS PASSES. THE COLD DOES TEAR ME UP THOUGH WITH FLARES IN THE WINTER. WISH I WAS SOMEWHERE WARM. MELODY
I AM HOT ALL THE TIME. MY HUSBAND SAYS I FREEZE HIM OUT. I STILL RUN THE CEILING FAN AT NIGHT.

WHEN I GO SHOPPING WITH MY DAUGHTER, I GET SO HEATED UP I CAN HARDLY STAY IN THE STORE AND HAVE COME OUT WITH MY HAIR DRENCHED IN SWEAT IN THE BACK.
I have the exact same problems.    Melody and trtldy 41, I have a grilfriend who is always hot and we both enjoy going to Vegas. We split the cost of the hotel room and she gets the bed that is close to the air condidtioner. I call housekeeping to ask for an extra blanket for my bed. I get a funny look from them when it's deliver to my room as it's hot outside. She's comfortable and I'm freezing! I pull on my heavy top to put on and if that doesn't warm me up, then I go for a walk in the sun. When we go casino hopping, I'm enjoying the heat and she's looking for the nearest air conditioning vent. If we didn't have so much fun together, I wouldn't go.

Marisathanks for the story marisa!!!!! i enjoyed it. it is great that you have a friend to share good times with. here is to you and great friends.
