Just got back from my primary care physicial to see if I need to go off MTX and Enbrel again due to a viral infection I can't seem to kick. I do.  Seems I now have probable asthma and maybe other lung problems.  I also have Sjogren's and throat cysts of 2 years standing and nose congestion but no mucus.  I"ll be getting a sinus CT and a pulmonary test. Even when I don't have a virus. I have trouble breathing and pain in the chest area when lying down. Anyone else have this?  I know RA can cause lung involvement and Enbrel can cause sinus trouble. There's something called metetrexate lung I've read about.

It was a really crazy day at school where I work with Hispanic migrant ed high schoolers.  They have been protesting the new immigration legistration and staging walkouts.  Well the walk out today turned into a gang fest and we had a major lockdown with police all over campus. When I drove home, there were students weilding crow bars and two by fours and I was worried I might get hurt.  So much for reducing stress. My rheumy wants me to keep working!

Yikes! Maybe you could switch to teaching 2nd graders or something...no walk outs or crow bars there!

Do you have any info on the MTX lung?

Maybe I should change jobs. Actually, I'm working on it.  I just have to figure out how to do it without loosing my health benefits.  Great job on the WW diet and loosing weight.  Lucky you for quitting prednisone. They're threatening more prednisone for me! Hopefully my pulmonary test and sinus CT next week will not be too bad.

Yes, I am starting to feel more fortunate about the prednisone thing. I have been doing well as long as I am not at work

I have been hearing about the walkouts on fox news. They are saying they are going to come down hard on those kids. I hope they do. That behavior is totally uncalled for. They dont even really know what they are fighting for. Hope you have a better work day today.

I have not heard of the MTX and lung thing but when you mentioned it I did have chronic asthma when on the enbrel. Hmmmm, interesting.

Good luck at work, sounds like too much stress for me. I agree, go to El Ed!

I haven't heard of the mtx lung either. This makes me wonder about the cold I can't get rid of and it feels like it's moving to my chest. Wonder if there is any relation to the RA? Good thing I see my primary next week. Let us know if you find any info on the mtx lung. Good luck.
