Do I Have Rheumatoid Arthritis? | Arthritis Information

Other than tests at the doctor's office, is there a way I can tell if I have rheumatoid arthritis? My mother has severe rheumatoid arthritis in her back and hands. I think I may have it in one of my finger joints. I have always heard that rheumatoid arthritis is hereditary. only a physician can answer that question for you. I don't think one joint is enough to say if you have RA.
When and if you have more than one joint that is playing up then it might be time to let the doctors decide.
The symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis can vary from patient to patient. The joint inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis causes swelling, pain, stiffness, and redness in the joints related to the tendons, ligaments, and muscles. If related to above anything in body, then make diagnosis. One joint does not qualify for rheumatoid arthritis, as Bodak said. See your doctor - he/she is the only one that can answer your questions.
