Lynn that article/cartoon is so right on.  I've experienced just about every frame of that cartoon.  It actually brought back some tears - when I was first diagnosed and in severe depression and a great deal of pain, and watching my future fall apart before my eyes, one of my very best friends said "Well it's not like you're going to die from it."  I'll never forget the sting of those words.

I did chuckle at the "Arthritis Walk" frame.  So true!  This June I participated in Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.  wow - it was a veritable gala event.  All I could think was "Jeez my Arthritis Walk goes around a parking lot - BEFORE the mall opens on a Sunday morning and nobody knows what the heck we're even doing."

Hey - maybe our ribbon color could be RUST!
