After about six months of remission (I thought it was gone) my RA is back with a vengences.  this bitesso sorry, gutch...  I was afraid that may happen.

I went back on MTX yesterday.  Maybe I shouldnt have stopped itI'm so sorry, especially after your great adventure.  I've decided RA is no fun. Sorry gutch!I thought I was in remission many years ago and stopped all meds.  Sorry to say my RA eventually came back with a vengance.  My thought is that if you feel good while taking the meds keep taking them.  Aren't we lucky that our Doctors aren't as stupid as some of us think they are?

This flair lasted just two days, thank God, now it is gone.  I am sticking with the meds this time
This flair lasted just two days, thank God, now it is gone.  I am sticking with the meds this time
That seems like a wise choice.

I'm glad you are starting to feel better I'm glad you feel better.  My philosophy is take the meds and augment them with alternative therapies and a healthy lifestyle to help cancel out some of the toxins.  Thanks Folks for the encouragement I stopped all meds in May. I have some discomfort, and nighttime pain, but my rhuemtologist has suggested I stay off meds until I need them again (and she assures me I will certainly have needs for heavy duty meds in the future based on my blood results. I hope she is wrong!). I was just noticing today how much more energy I have now in comparison to when I was on methotrexate. I know, I know...a flare will zap that. I am glad to read the posts here and share and keep in the loop....< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""> Not all doctors think alike Lev. My doctor wants to save the meds for later as much as possible. That is I have limited resourses. He feels I may need them more later thatn sooner.

I do not always agree with this. So anyway he certainly would not give them to me when I was in remission. I can ware out a drug and become allergic in three months time.

Sigh! He may well be right. At this point he wants to wait until I am near death or something?

So maybe with the jaw issue he will think differently? I see him in a few weeks. I will have a long talk with him in a few weeks.

As I understand it is an individual reason why my doctor thinks this way. He started out giving me meds and as we worked through them he said they are now valuables in a saftey deposit box to pulled out in emergencies. Scince we may be at this battle for a long time.

So for me it was the doctors decision. He can think more clearly than I because he is not in pain.

It is a big decision when you think about it that way. Special circumstances allergies, infections ect.

Some people can take the same thing forever and do well. Others have more trouble. Just the unfair facts of life.
Milly,

I don't think I like your Doctor or his/her reasoning. What meds are you taking and what have you used that you can't use?

LEV
I started wit Arava allergic, MTX allergic after a couple of months, plaquinil, chloriquin phosphate which I did feel wonderful and then a rash. after three months. Remicaid allergic, Enbrel allergic.

I would like to blame the doctor also. Really logically it is not his fault. He makes me wait between meds to try to keep me from having allergic reactions. That does not work so well. I am hyper allerginic. Like auto immune allergic. I swell in every place of my body when allergic my gut my sinuses. It is serious. Rashes trouble breathing. I hate not being able to breath LEV. When you can not breath from an allergic reaction even the meds they give you do not help very well.

I have some cyclosporin. So well not what most docs would prescibe but with me you have to think outside of the box.

I would like soemthing else right now. He will maybe even give it to me because I am not just having minor problems but large ones. Then again that does not mean it will be alright.

Sometimes after an allergic reaction it does not take much to talk me out of something. I can talk him into giving me some humira check spelling just took my morning meds and I have a headache.

Just well I coud well be allergic to that.

so sorry Milly - hope the right combo comes to you
