Help choosing Enbrel vs. Humira | Arthritis Information

I haven't posted in a while but I visit here often and try to stay informed.

My rheumy asked me to start cutting back on the Prednisone and by the time I got to 2.5 mg a day, the stiffness and pain started returning although not nearly as bad as the onset. I went in yesterday and she suggested that I start a biologic drug, either Enbrel or Humira. The choice is mine. She gave me the option to go home and discuss it with my husband and come back in for the first injection or I could have started it yesterday. I guess you can tell I chose to discuss it first.

Can anyone tell me which works best if you have tried both or any success stories? I checked the other board, " Just Starting Enbrel?" but the post are a little old. Also, is Enbrel used for rheumatoid arthritis as well? All the info I received mentions it for use with psoriatic arthritis.

Until the science of rheumatology can develop a blood test that will match each of our individual conditions with the most appropriate biologic, it's a crapshoot.

If you try one and it doesn't work, the other might. I wish I could be more helpful. Best wishes with your decision.
