So getting a CT scan of Parotid ect. | Arthritis Information

I guess it could be something besides Sjorgrens? I am sure it is the Sjorgrens or at least a complication from it. Well my youngest had a tumor in his, so you never know?

It seems like pred is the only thing that helps it. I had shown the gland to the eye doctor he did not seem so concerned. Well that one is bigger. Also I was looking at the anatomy of all of the glands and ducts.

Well I am having troubles with all of the above glands and ducts. I guess my RD knows the anatomy of these pretty well. Enough to make a connection that it could be an infection or a blockage well hopefully nothing worse than that. Also it could be just Sjorgrens but it could be a blockage or infection caused by Sjorgrenes?

See the corner of my eye has been swelling along with the gland above it is growing and sort of extending to my nose. When it is really bad now it is giving me head aches between my eyes and at the top of my nose which is in the middle of the corner of my eyes.

Then I think where that drains is under my chin which yes is swollen also. Then my parotid would be putting pressure on my ear and jaw or jaw muscles. Actually I think it swelled so big it ate my jaw and ear and maybe part of my brain. Well it feels like it anyway.

Well then if that happened it would be cancer or a tumor but most of it is squishy like fluid so probably not cancer I do not think so. I guess infection could go to all of those places. Then I would need I.V. abx.

Geez I felt like I had a brain infection last night. Just a terrible headache to say the least. I honestly had like tendonitis or fibro in the inside od my mouth i could see a tendon sticking out worse than ever. Then one at the base of my scull at the tippy top of the neck and I sware one in the middle of my forehead between my eyes at the top of my nose. So I took a muscle relaxer and prayed my self to sleep. The pain meds did not even touch it.

I also took an exra 2.5 of pred. Not too much as I want to be all swollen for the CT scan of course. Well I know already that only high dose pred really takes a bit of the swelling out of it. Low dose pred does just enough to keep me where I think maybe I will live through this.

So I went to the hospital and they do not do this scan. So I have to go over the State Boarder and get an appointment so maybe Tuesday I can get it done.

Well now it would be nice if they could do something and give me my face back among other things like less pain.

Alright so maybe my RD knows something that my other doctors do not. Maybe at this point anyone would have noticed but I also took my glasses off and pointed it out to him. I also told him my eye doctor was not overly impressed. Yet I asked him if maybe I should go back to the eye doctor?

So not too say that I do not have auto immune problems because I do. He says this particular problem could be something else.

Also he ordered a bunch of bloodwork to check my electrolites and also more ana and ssa and ssb and titer stuff.

He seems more worried about my head at the moment then the rest of things. Well if it is an infection we certainly need to know that before lower my immune system any further. I had been suspicious of cellulitis myself.

Plus I was super super dry mouthed. You could see my mouth puckering and sticking froom the dryness plus I sounded almost horse or raspy when I spoke.

Oh he ordered me a new medicine for dry eyes dry mouth. Except it is so new the insurance company never heard of it so the pharmacist is checking to see if he can get them to pay for it or not.

Some of you may need to check into this. Can not remember the name he faxed in the order I think it started with an E. Maybe your RD would know the name of it?

So I was reading and they said they stick a tube in your parotid and then inject it with dye. So I am wondering how they get this tube into my parotid?

Still I think I can tell a difference between muscle pain and jaw joint pain. I do not think that it is the parotid gland causing that pain and swelling. I do think that the parotid is causing the the other glands or ducts to swell.

I do get all worried about Lymphoma with ducts and glands swelling. I really hate it when doctors tell you not to worry about something and then another doctor suddenly freaks out.

My RD was genuinly worried, and he did not hide it well at all. He said I hope for your sake the gland is not damaged. So that makes me worry a bit. Of course I have been under the impression for awhile that the gland was already damaged.

So I guess if anyone tells you not to worry about a swollen gland do not listen to them. I am seeing my gp tuesday also. My knee feels like it has a swollen lymph node in it. Not sure what it is exactly. Just a sore litlle lump. It hurts if I bend it to far so I got some new knee braces.

I have ankle braces but my knees have been bothering me. Today is not so bad except for the one little spot. It is hard to get motivated to get out of bed and do anything when your knees and ankles are bothering you. I tend to just want to stay off of them.

Probably they are not bothering me as bad because I stayed awake long enough to get all of the pain pills in me. I fell asleep with out my night time meds a few days ago and it took me until today to catch back up.

Well the little bump is a half an inch away from a tiny bruise. I also want to make sure it is not a blood clot. So it takes so long to get into the gp office I went ahead and made an appointment. If it gets worse then I already have an appointment. Well what ever it is it is painful. Well I want an MRI of neck anyway. So they made the appointment for tuesday and I am going to try to get my ct scan tuesday because I will already be on the hospital campus.

If not then I have plenty of other problems to be seen about anyway.
