So they have three flu shots this year? | Arthritis Information

I was at the lab getting bloodwork and the lady said that some of the employees are refusing the flu shots because there are three this year and she said something about extra stuff? Then she said well three shots.

Anyone know what she was talking about?
It's one shot-they have just combined a few strains into one shot.

I got mine yesterday.  Didn't really have a choice.  With the cardic/lung compications and having pneumonia in August-the flu is just too great of a risk for me.

rocckyd2010-10-21 18:15:03I still plan to get mine. I have to call the health dept and see when they are giving them out. Things have been a bit busy so I need to make the time to call. Arghh so much to do and so little time. [QUOTE=rocckyd]It's one shot-they have just combined a few strains into one shot. Not yet...I'm due to get it on the 2nd when I head back down to Duke.  Couldn't get both at the same time due to how weak/low the immune system is.  Dr. felt that the flu shot was more important at this time.

Hope you feel better.  Man did I feel like dirt when I had pneumonia back in August.  I was discharged after a few days, but it took weeks to feel back to "normal".  Take care of yourself!
Speaking of the flu, where is the pepto bismol?

Babs I hope you feel better soon. Is it viral or bacteral? The shot only works for viral. I got mine last year.
milly2010-10-21 19:21:09 I may have had two out of the three already this year. One of them was very bad for RA. It seemed to have brought me out of remission. It was so bad it made my little sisters toe swell up and her shoulder is bothering her. It lasted at least a week.

My brother had pneumonia or bronchitis he looked awful. I called and got him abx before he got back home. Then he said his friend that he caught it from was in the hospital. I got some abx right away and I think I kept mine at bronchitis.

So we were all going to avoid one another and not share this last weeks illnesses from my sisters house to my house. Well the little guy was on his way to the hospital and we all met in the waiting room.
WOW!  You guys are making me feel as healthy as a horse right now.  I'm so sorry you are all feeling so bad.  I hope you feel better real soon.  I got my flu shot a couple weeks ago and it was just one injection.  The next day I was in bed all day from body aches but, I was also in the midst of a flare so I don't know if the flu shot had anything to do with it or not.

I'm very happy to be feeling better and to have gotten over this last flare because my friend has talked me into going on a 6 mile hike tomorrow in Grafton, IL along the Mississippi River.  The leaves should be changing colors and I should get some good pics of the beautiful scenery.  I'm very excited about spending the day with nature and my very understanding best friend who has been there for me through the good days and the bad.

I am very thankful for Cymbalta too!  It not only makes me happy but, it does not make me feel tired and drugged like the Paxil did.  And it seems to worked wonders for taking away the fibromyalgia pain that I have been experiencing the past month to month and a half.

I hope you all feel better soon!  I send my thoughts and prayers.
Jen
