How Do People Respond To You? | Arthritis Information

So we have this board to sound off to. I sometimes wonder if even you believe me. Just that RA and like illnesses tend to throw things at us faster than we can catch up.

I was thinking about an ER doc that said "But Sjorgrens is just dry eyes" He did not even get the dry mouth part of it. He is totally not my favorite Doc.

Some days even I don't get it. Well I saw a picture once of lady with Sjorgrens and her face was twice the size mine is. So I just thought maybe it was the new normal for me.

Honestly I have to sit and think and rehearse Doctors appointments. I have so much to remember and if I get carried away from one subject then I forget the something else that maybe important.

So I thought it out the night before. Luckily I had been in great pain and wanted to remember to take my glasses off and show the RD the glands above my eye. I thought other wise he will  think I have pred face. I had decided that this would be my first and formost complaint.

Well the muscle thing also. WOW I could never have planned it to have the dryest mouth on the planet. I never know what to expect myself. Auto immune can totally put my entire night of rehearsal out the window at times. This time it made the pitch for me. Not entirely but it did help alot.

So I get to radiology at the wrong hospital of course and I get called to the radiology department and am told to sit in the waiting room. I rehearsed taking the rubberband out of my hair because it has a metal clasp. I was reading a magazine my hair down around my face.

The woman comes out and says I am sorry we do not do these test here you have to go Indiana. So the test are mainly for my Parotid which is supposed to be down by your jaw. She asks if I have swelling somewhere in this region and waves her hand around the eyes and eyebrows. I specifically have long bangs to hide that area. In the name of science and education I took off my glasses and pushed my hair back. I said yes here,  here and here. She says yes the radiologist was wondering about that? Well good he knows something about something he does not do. I wish he knew more about some of his reports he has made on me in the past.

Who knows maybe he was wondering about some of my sinus exrays? Different test I know. So the way I took it was that if this test is ordered you are supposed to have swelling around your eye area? I guess I will ask when I get the actual test done.

So this very white haired lady in a wheelchair with one leg is trying to get the door opened at the RD office. I hobbled over to the door all stiff hipped and open the door for her. She rolls up to the desk asks if it is a ghost in charge? I handed her the sign in sheet. She thanked me and smiled then rolls back to get out of peoples way. I had to stare at her once. Her cell phone rang. She had white hair and was texting away on an I phone like it was her soul mate. I had to do a double take on that one. I hate I phones they are too small looking on the internet and even I do not text and I am only 47, I do not even think she had glasses on. LOL I was impressed.
