I have had RA for the past 2 years.. I also have crohns disease ( and inflammatory bowel disease) I have tried, methotrexate, enbrel ,arava,and remicade. Enbrel and methotrexate worked ok but after 6 months on enbrel I had an allergic reaction skin boils. This year I tried remicade what the first infusion all went well… I felt so good within 5 days I was out of the bed. ( I have been bedridden most of these 2 years except when I was on enbrel for 7 months) The second infusion I had a reaction… within 20 minutes I started having a warm feeling from my feet to my chest my heart started racing abit ( I was scared) The feeling went away in about 40 minutes. I decided not to continue for the day. I started to drive home and the feeling started again so I went to emergency they did the usual checks (ekg,chest x rays etc.) the feeling of warmness last a couple of more hours and then I went home.
I did take benadryl and Tylenol before starting. This medication worked like a miracle for me the RA and crohns improved greatly… I felt like a normal person. My GI doctor said we can try again with but I would take 40mg of prednisone before starting. Or I can try Humeria. Do you think it is worth trying again?

I would give it another chance. You seem to have been okay despite the "funny" feeling you got. Maybe it was infused slower the first time. Sometimes the side effects go away after a couple of doses of any med. Maybe you could get someone to go with you too, so you dont have to drive yourself home after.

I AGREE WITH CRUNCHY. I WOULD DEFINATELY GET SOMEONE TO DRIVE ME HOME THIS TIME UNTIL YOU SEE HOW YOU WILL REACT. IF YOU FELT THAT GOOD, I WOULD THINK YOU WOULD WANT TO TRY IT AGAIN. I JUST STARTED TAKING THE HUMIRA AND HAVE DONE 2 SHOTS IN FOUR WEEKS ALONG WITH MTX AND I AM FEELING BETTER ALREADY. I HAVE ALSO HAD A FEW HEART PALPATATIONS BUT I AM HANGING ON TO SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING. I ALSO DRINK WAYYYY TO MUCH SODA AND I AM SURE THAT IS A BIG PART OF THE RACING HEART!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND I REALLY HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU THIS TIME. MELODYMARIED, WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF CROHN'S DISEASE? WHAT WOULD MAKE A DOCTOR TEST FOR THAT SPECIFIC THING? JUST CURIOUS. I HAVE KNOWN SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT BUT NEVER KNEW WHAT BROUGHT IT ON. MELODY
