Is  11 doctors and 25 meds  plus Vit. E.  D.   plus cream  and other stuff  too much.

The doctors don't agree on every thing,  Who do you believe   and lisen to.One doctor said I could drive as long as i stay off freeways  and took it slow and easy.  another got mad the other day because i was driving.  my family  doctor wanted to know why i was going to the city for treatment, like brain surgery.  He named off 8 things plus that was wrong with me, he want me to just just give up.  At my age  I'm to old to fight.  I still feel like I got a few years.
I have been turn down for any kind of help  like home service, I clean, cook and care for my husband  the house don't look the greatest,  but Im the on e who lives here,  if people  don't like it then let them clean it,

Why is someone telling you to quit driving? It seems to me that if we are going to allow these "death jockeys" to drive so aggressive, wreckless, tailgating, in and out of traffic, talking on the cell phone, texting and reading while driving, well then, unless you are already dead, you should be allowed to drive. It's a shame that so many people are so aggressive. I think that they make alot of the elderly make mistakes by being so impatient and the elderly making mistakes by being concerned with those "idiots".  You just keep on driving. If they don't like it tell them to kiss your butt. Afterall, that's what insurance is for. 42 thousand vehicle deaths and 70 percent can be attributed to aggressive and wreckless driving according to the ntsb. Not from the elderly. The elderly get a bum rap. Everytime a elderly makes a mistake and hits the gas instead of the brake, it's all over the media as if that's the norm for the elderly. Think about if every accident caused by the wreckless and aggressive were on the media. I know, 40 ounces of coffee and my swollen fingers are a blur on this keyboard. So I'll finish this up. Oh yeah, you ain't old, you are the new fourty.

levlarry2010-11-15 10:22:31I have driven for 56 years,  1 ticket  about 17 years ago,  and one bad wreak 40 years ago, he hit me.  I feel relaxed while driving.  I think I'm a  better driver now, I pay more attention.   I didn't  just get the keys and drive. Iwaited 5 weeks till  I thought i was strong enough, then I talk to ome of the doctors that was treating me,  I didn't drive alone for a week.  I started out in a parking lot,   I did  drive to city 45 miles to the doc.Had to get on freeway I  had a very relaxing day,  Drove 65  and had to get on a freeway.  it was Aug 12th. when Ihad surgeryListen to your friends, Rusty...

Keep on keeping on..  rusty,
You are still a pup!  In the investors group to which I belong, there are quite a few who who are in their 70's and a few in their 80's - and they are smart, articulate, and computer-literate.  And yes, they are still driving a vehicle, tho some older ones might limit their night time driving to unfamiliar venues.  My step-mom at 86 has only v. recently stopped doing her own lawn-mowing - only because she is receiving treatment for a cancerous eye - as she likes the exercise despite suffering from sciatica.

OK, some of us, even the young ones, find that our arthrititic joints prevent us doing all that we used to, as well as we used to.   But that doesn't mean we shd be ignored and assigned to the scrap-heap. Your docs need to get realistic and treat u as a human being! One who has many good years left, IF the medicos gave you all the meds and assistance needed.
lorrie2010-11-17 02:09:30Hi, Rusty. Don't let those doctors wear you down. You know your body and capabilities better than they do. Remember this: Dignity is God-given. No person has the right or the ability to take that from you. You are a valuable person. Give yourself some TLC and keep up the good fight. Peace to you, Rusty. Thank you all,  I get so mixed up at times I think too much.  I have a good life.  My RA  is under  control,  with very little pain.  I have enough to eat, I have a good husband and we own our home.  If I can get my health problems fixed  I'll be ok.  The last 3 years have been hard.  We'd had to deal   with open  heart surgery,  RA, cancer, and now  brain surgery . we both have been in and out of hospital.  I want to thank everyone  for being here for me even when It wasn't Ra.  thank you,  your great.
