How are we supose to take medication? | Arthritis Information
When you take 24 plus pill, Do you take them all at once, 14 in morning another 10 at night. before I get up I put In eye drops, Get up and clean mouth with special mouth wash and meds, I have to put medacated cream allover my body for rash. get up eat and take pills and make sure husband takes his meds 18 pills, get dress and start my day, cooklng and cleaning and caring for husband. Appointmemts for us, eat and more pills more eye drops and better not forge the once a month shot. I have read that you shouldn't take them all at once, and that you shouldn't take them with anything but water. where do I find the time and remenber it all. rusty2010-11-21 10:51:08Rusty, that's an overwhelming schedule that you have! I take my day pills all at once with water and I do the same in the evening.
I would suggest you sit down with your pharacist and review each medication and set up an appropriate scheduled based on the meds you do take. Some of these meds may do better with food, some on an empty stomach, some may not be able to be taken at the same time. do the same with your husband's meds. Far too many of us fail to take advantage of our pharmacists expertiseAgree with Buckeye....good luck Rusty!
Your right the pharmacist knows more then doctor about the meds. at least mind does, The doctor is too busy to go over all meds and talk to you. If your on more then 5 for get it, My doc. keeps every thing on a cp and he has to go out and check, and so many doctors, they don't talk. rusty2010-11-21 19:44:37I went to the pharmacist and he went over all the meds that I'm taking.Only two has to be taken with food. 5 is for blood pressure and two of them are the same so stop 1. He said I could take them like I am unless they cause light headness or something, if they do to take part at night. I take my (9) morning pills (plus vitamins/supplements) all at once on an empty stomach with Coca-Cola. I take my (8) night pills (plus supplements) all at once on a semi-full stomach with Coca-Cola. It hasn't killed me yet but I don't exactly recommend it to others. It's good advice to talk to your pharmacist and find out what pills should be taken when, and under what conditions. To help remember, write yourself up a schedule and use alarms (clock, cell phone, computer, whatever). InnerGlow2010-11-22 23:40:31You know,
Prior to very Dr. appointment, I get a reminder letter. This is what the last part of the letter says. "Be sure to bring all medicines that you are taking, including all supplements". At every appointment we go over every single drug that I take. Ain't that special?
