Gotcha..

I saw my rheumy on wed, and she still doesn't like my over all bloodwoork.. everything is still low.. but my sed rate is way up..
So instead of MTX (which I REALLY want) she's put me on Arava.

Somehow I've missed every post from every person on Arava telling the ups and downs.. So can you all give me some basic info?

Oh still no info on my chronic runs, still have elevated CA -19 levels, as well as elevated CA 125 levels. I had a CT Scan a few weeks ago.. and it took FIVE attempts to place the IV..sheeesh.

I got my orthotics last week, but it hurts so much to walk that I can't accumulate 2 hours of use.. I wear only slippers in the house and I REFUSE to put orthotics in big bunny slippers.

. Last week I went to Lowes to pick out ceiling lamps and had to use the scooter.. I HATE that. The lighting is gorgeous though..AND I got pulls and knobs for my cabinets!! YAY.

I had to get off that drug as it had me sitting in the out house all day long. After being on Methotrexate for quite a few years, I started developing mouth sores, so my RD switched me to Arava about a year ago. Up until the past couple of months, I didn't have any problem with it, but noticed a month or two ago I've been losing a lot of hair....very significant this past month. I don't see my RD until the first of January, and am going to ask him to take me off of it and try Methotrexate again. Until then, I'm brushing my hair VERY gently. LOL

Never had any GI problems with the Arava, did have quite a bit of nausea when I was on oral Methotrexate, but once I switched to injectable, no further problems until the mouth sores.
I found out hair is a no big deal if it's thin,  my hair got thin with predisone.  in the 80s,   wished that was all it did, hair came back.hair  got thin  in 2008  due to  cancer  treatment, i was thinking about a wig, Now in 2010. hair gone again because of radition  and being shaved in 3 places  for brain sugery.Hair is no big deal I comb over  and got a wig because this is for life,  wish I had some, but I can live with out it.  It came back ever time.
