New experience for me.... | Arthritis Information

Today, I made it through work almost insident free. Nobody left me their work except for one girl, but I didn't do it.

When I got home, I remembered reading how heat is good for joints that swell. I decided to take a bubble bath - something I did every now and then anyway in an effort to have a good night tonight and finally get some sleep. I got all ready, and realized, once ankle deep in the thing, that my knees couldn't bend enough to get all the way into the bubble bath! I tried maybe five different ways, and there was no way to get in! This never happened to me before. So, I did the only thing I could do. I counted to three and let myself fall into a sitting position in the tub. I tell ya, the splash I made would have put Shamu to shame!

Glad you took care of yourself today and didn't let others take advantage of you at work. Keep up the good work. I love my evening bath too.

Ha! Well, you have to laugh at yourself. To be honest, I was scared for a moment. I have never been not able to do something before. It was scary to think that I have limitations every now and then.

The real test at work is today! I am replacing someone. The girl I am working with is one of the really bad ones for letting me do all her work. The worst thing is, usually there is four of us during the day. Today there will just be the two of us! I got to be strong and stand my ground. My swelling is just starting to go down this morning....so I don't want to do anything to make it worse again. Wish me luck! I have been practicing all morning saying  "no!" . Ha ha!

Happy to hear of the progress at work!! You go girl. Just because your body is weak doesn't mean you have to be. Stay strong sister!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!Ha, I have been falling into the bath for a while.  I had to stop taking them until I got medication, but it was worth the fall!

I usually slide myself up to the side of the tub by holding on to the soap dish, then I sit up from there.  That helps.

Sounds like things are improving.

I can get into the tub Ok, my problem is getting out!!

YOU don't want to see how I get out of the tub!!!  I end up flipping over on my belly and try to do a push up so I can kneel then slowly get out of the tub.  It is strange looking I am sure.  Glad to hear things are going better at work!!!  You rock!!!!
