It has been misting for a several hours now and everything is a solid sheet of ice. My son said it is a thick sheet of ice at this point. I just hope things warm up before the trees and the power lines start to come down.

Anyway ice storms are a phobia of mine. Very dangerous!
Stay inside, warm and safe Milly! [QUOTE=milly] It has been misting for a several hours now and everything is a solid sheet of ice. My son said it is a thick sheet of ice at this point. I just hope things warm up before the trees and the power lines start to come down. Not warm in Southern Il yet. I think by Monday we will be a little above the freezing mark, at least in the day time hours. If we do not get any sneaky cold fronts things should be nice next week for winter anyway. If I had a fireplace or a wood stove I would not worry. The power is still on so all is well. I have the nephews and we have been playing Monopoly and Clue ect. LOL My youngest Nephew has always been one of my biggest fans. He loves to come over by himself.

His older brother said he was having the most fun ever this weekend. He also said I was the best cook. The younger one is still having fun but he tends to be more impressed when he comes alone. LOL I think he is getting tired.

I am simply impressed with myself for keeping up with them. I really have not been extending myself too much these days. The dishes are done and I am still alive so I guess I will survive the weekend.
Hi, Millie!

I live in northern Missouri and we drove to Quincy Saturday to buy a computer at Best Buy. There wasn't any snow on the side of the road, but there sure was a lot of salt on the road. That area of Il must have gotten a lot of ice, too. We had mostly snow, here...just a little bit of ice. Ice is so scary. I don't go to work if the roads are very icy. Too dangerous. Hope everything is okay there now.

I agree with Milly--I have been through a couple of really severe ice storms--no power for days, trees and power lines down--no heat--no hair dryer.  It can be very dangerous.  I do not have a fireplace either--so with no heat--it is very uncomfortable.
