My Rituxan infusion Monday | Arthritis Information

So,

Monday was my day for my first of two 6months Rituxan infusions. On Sunday it snowed and left about six inches of wet heavy snow. During the first 4-5 inches the temperature was above freezing melting some of the snow. Later in the day it turned cold and overnite the temp dropped to 13 degrees with 30mph winds. So I get up early and leave early. The roads are a sheet of ice but not much traffic on the back roads and i can do about 30-40 mph because the roads are straight and no traffic. After about 10 miles, I decide to make my way to the x-way. So I get on the x-way and yep, pure ice. Traffic moving at about 7 miles an hour. I end up at the hospital about two hours late but so did everyone else. Two nurses weren't there which slowed everything down but eventually, got my two benadryl, two corticortisone and eventually my drip. Everything went well and by the time I left at 4:30 PM, the roads were uniced. Very surprisingly, I didn't even get a sinus infection as I usually do after my infusions. Of course I guess there is still time. I like this six month regimine much better that the "when the Rituxan wears off" regimine because there is no in between time of pain. Well, that's my Rituxan infusion story. I will have another on the week after Christmas. The drives were more eventful. And Milly, yep, ice can be quite stressful. But I did get some beautiful pictures on the way home as the sun was settling in for the night.

That was one of the things I loved about Rituxan-the infusion schedule.  I wanted to go back on it after the surgeries but the RD wasn't for it.

Glad you made it safely to your appointment.  It is a long day.  Hopefully the med will kick in and allow you a fairly pain free Christmas!
