The immune system produces reactive oxygen to kill pathogens. With an over active immune system and one that mistakes our own bodies as the enemy, it produces an over abundance of reactive oxygen. This reactive oxygen is a corrosive or oxidizer. The inflammation and destruction of tissue is the end result. The two reactive oxygen species is Peroxide and Ozone. To break down excessive peroxide you would need a Antioxidant Catalyst (SOD). To break down Ozone you need single chlorine atoms (CFC's).

If you have any questions please reply. I would also like to say this applies to the majority of autoimmune diseases.
I would also like to state that this is not a cure but relief. Breaking down excessive ozone in your body created by the immune system is a tough one. I found this out myself back in 2005 by breathing CFC's from my old refrigerator. The CFC's collect at the top of the freezer so I had to use a tube to suck some of it in. Those old refrigerators are going bye bye because of the CFC's which break down our important ozone which is understandable. I would advise people not to go sucking up CFC out of any refrigerant because it has a heavy methane molecule on it which can kill you through asphyxiation. I was lucky and had a small leak of CFC's which did not have the methane molecule. I believe the methane is removed through the refrigeration process known basically as a heat exchanger. Through the heat exchange these molecules are exposed to a certain amount of heat and then cooled back down. During this heating and cooling process some of the methane is stripped off. It's called Dichlorodifluoromethane. It's the methane that must go. I was pain free for about 2-3 months but the immune system will build it back up. The good thing about this is your whole immune system doesn't have to be suppressed. You would still need to take some caution such as keeping your hands clean and avoid high mold (fungi) areas. This is basically taking the bullets out of the gun. The bullets are the reactive oxygen and the gun is your immune system.  Some people out there may have seen this little news article or saw the tv special. This was years ago and I remembered it. These Russian kids were taken into a big open deep freezer for a half an hour or so only to see their arthritis pain subside for long periods. They brushed it off as just the cold keeping the swelling and inflammation down. What really happened is there was a leak in the refrigeration unit. All those kids were breathing the CFC's without the methane. I'm new and sorry for my abrupt intro but I wanted to get this news out. The rabbit hole is much much deeper then you would ever want to know. My life could be on the line here folks or my families. I have ankylosing spondylitis (Bamboo spine). All the glory goes to G-d for he led me. I've been afraid but I will not be afraid anymore. They can come and get me.   Hmmmm, interesting. welcome, bookworm,  sorry I just don't like your idea,  but I'm glad that it helped you, I have tried just about everything over the years, breathing  CFC,  and being in a freezer is not one of them. rusty2011-01-08 18:45:13I know it sounds crazy but it was the only way to get the single chlorine atoms needed to break up the ozone in my body. I guess during the exchange of oxygen in the lungs it breaks off the necessary amount. It takes very little to do a lot. This was an old refrigerator with a leak. The tell tell sign is the smell of chlorine in your freezer. The CFC's hug the top of the freezer because they are lighter then air. You have to catch them with a tube as soon as you crack open the door or they escape. Thanks for the reply. bookworm,

You must be a little cold. Here, try on this jacket.

It's your life and you do as you will. Some of us are just tired of the suffering and pain. I will find my own solution in a world in which profits are more important then people.  Have you even seen a chemistry book?
