Seriously? I have the flu again? | Arthritis Information

Well I must have the flu again. Yes I had my shot. I had the flu before I got my shot also.

I just hope it is not as bad as last time. Surely I have to have built up some immunity to this by now. I had my shot in early November.

I guess I have been in denile. My brother had the flu two days ago he also had his shot when I did. I know I have not felt well. Seriously not again.

I saw the doctor today and got some prednisone and they changed my abx because I was getting worse instead of better.

Now there was a part of me that was suspisious about being allergic to my Leviquin at the time. Now my abx were changed to Cipro same family so I am suspiscious.

It seems everything lately with me is a conspericy theory. Not really but maybe old fashion paranoya. That is everything could be something else. I went to the doctor to get prednisone and to get exrays of me hips and ischials. Just you know is it RA or bursitis? So I never know is something is this or is it that. I mean logically it is RA because my jaw hurts as well as my hip and hip areas.

So maybe just this flu is my something else my consperisy theory? Well one of them anyway.

Good luck getting me to take Cipro for fourteen more days. Logically it is the flu but I am feelling quinalin check spelling intolerent.

Alright so I had heartburn really nasty and thought thats alright it is worth it just part of taking prednisone and adding Cipro can not be a great combination. Well it got increasingly worse. I took a prilosec.

Heartburn is not so bad now. LOL I had an awful headache, as I remember my mother had an awful headache Christmas Eve with the flu. Just the events of the days are somewhat turned around from my flu to her flu.

Well I shall see if my digestive system will let me lay down. If not for the heartburn I would have been asleep hours ago.

so sorry,  hope you and your brother are feeling better.
I get the flu shot every year, got it in Sept.  once a few years ago I got  sick a few days after.
I'll pray for a fast recovery,  Take care of your self.
My Counties health department is not the first on the list to get flu vacines. I guess they did get it Oct 6th this year.

Well the kids wasted no time bringing things home from school this year. We had the one flu in september and the different flu in Oct.

Anyway my flu shots were a year apart pretty much. Just this one flu it hit me harder than any other flu has for many years. This is the one I have now again. Hopefully it will not be as bad this time. I guess I will know in a few days.

So we have many inches of snow outside and it is still coming down. Six inches probably. Plus wind for drifts. Obviously I am not going to worry about it much. I knew it was coming and went to the store. I got plenty of salt but do not feel like dealing with it at the moment.

So my plan was to shovel this morning and then hunker down and rest. Just the walks usually the drive way is not a problem as it has a cover over it. I am thinking I will skip it maybe.

Well we will see. If I let get hard it will not shovel so well. Maybe when my tylonol hydrocodone kicks in I will make a small path. Nothing that I brag about thats for sure. LOL My brother is supposed to be coming to town. He has had gastly problems with his jaw and was even admitted in patient with his ear infection.

I guess the head of the hospital came in to look at his ear. She said they had never had an admit over an ear infection before so she had to see for herself why the er doc wanted to admit him. She said "Alright you win that is the worst ear infection I have ever seen. I guess it was closed up. So he got IV abx.

Now his jaw swelled up. I guess he got a crown recently and maybe there is some thought as to it may have been a root infection. So he was given prednisone and abx and is feelling better. So he was planning on making his Holiday visit a few weeks late.

Alright so last year when it snowed I only had a shovel stripe down the front walk. He thought that was horribly tacky and asked for the shovel and shoveled things properly. So I was thinking about that.

I am just going to do what I can and then throw some salt down. I may even do it in small ingraments like a few feet a day. LOL Maybe not at all.

So is it alright to take prednisone when you have the flu? It is giving me much pain relief in my hip area. I know it is not better. I did feel a pop or two come out of it last night. So I really am glad to get a bit of relief. We all have a pain level that we can tolerate. I was taking my max pain meds and still not at a pain level that I could tolerate.

Usually pred takes a couple of days to kick in good for me. Maybe because I had the pain meds in me at a higher level I am getting a faster pain relief from the pred. I have been on it about twenty hours now. Not jump up and down pain relief just a tolerable level of pain relief. That really means alot sometimes.

Well I am not sure how my body will actually deal with the flu this time around. Last time it took me a few days to work up to the worst of it. So if I follow the same pattern the worst of it is yet to come. Hoping that being the second time around it is easier on me. Time will tell.
Hi Milly,

I will pray for a recovery,  Take care.
