AARRGGHH!!

OK...I have been having a ton of stomach issues these past few months. I
had an EGD(where they look down your throat) on St. Patrick's day and I
am scheduled to have a colonoscopy next Monday. Dr. is concerned
about Crohn's or IBD. He says that if you have one inflammatory
condition the others just seem to follow over time. Well-woke up
yesterday feeling like someone was kicking me in the side. Went to the
ER and it turns out I have Gallstones. I have to call the surgeon tomorrow
morning and out it comes. They still want to do the colonoscopy since
IBD increaseds your risk of stones and I don't match the profile for a
gallstone case apparently. AARRGGHHH. To top it all off-it's just about
time for spring break and I am supposed to be heading out of town. I
QUIT!

BeckyI hope it's just gallstones and not Crohn's.  That is a tough one, to especially have two!  I will send good vibes your way for good results.  Let us know how it goes.

Good thoughts going your way...hope it all works out!

Can I just say that I love your boxing cat. It cracks me up everytime I see
it....Thanks, Becky...my husband found it and when I saw it, I just had to have it, since it cracks me up as well

Not Fair, Not Fair, Not Fair.

This too will pass, Vicky.  Speaking of pass - my GI Doc says that have a farting machine to help you fart after colonoscopy surgery.

Good luck to you---I hope everything comes out okay!

The same thing happened to me.   I had a very diseased Gallbladder and stones.   I didn't fit the "disease pattern" though.  I have had the colonoscopy (trust me the prep is the worst part) and I have something called SOD (sphincter of oddi) and IBS.   They are keeping a close watch on me because I throw a lot of signs of Crohns also.   So I have to the a colonoscopy every other year now.

Hang in there.... our thoughts are with you !

Olive38817.6502314815Alright...it comes out on friday. Dr. said his only concern is that I have
been on Prednisone for so many years and at various dosages. He said
the pred. masks infection and inflammation so he is not sure what he'll
really find until he gets in there. If he can do the simple procedure I'll be
home by Sunday. Otherwise it gets more complicated. Fun

BeckyIs that this Friday? I hope you get home for Easter. Good luck to you girl.Sorry to hear about all you are going through Becky.  Good luck with the surgery.  I hope there is nothing else too serious going on.  You'll be in my thoughts :)I feel just what your saying seems every couple of months something new to face and one of ya meds no longer works, it is always something. my sister and my godfather just had stones removed they feel really good healing was ok just a little rough the first couple of days but you will be glad they came out, I wish you all the luck and my prayers are with you.I survived!!

Had the lovely gallbladder removed on Fri. morning and came home on
Sat. afternoon. I'm doing pretty good. Yes-it hurt but not like I was
going to die. The nurses said that people with chronic pain tend to do
really well with that type of surgery cause we are used to hurting when we
move anyway. So=one plus for RA huh?
The didn't believe me when I said that pain killer hype me up. They tried
a few different ones and then decided on morphine. They took bets on
how long it would be till I was out and snoring. Well, 2am came and I was
still wired! Two of the night nurses came in and played cards and we
watched MTV.
According the the medical folks I'm healing pretty fast. They told me to
go home and keep moving around but to take it easy. I am not cleared to
drive until Tues-apparantly the sedation stays in your system for quite a
while. They had to give me extra prednisone before/after/and during the
procedure since i have been on it for so long. I am supposed to drive to
Kentucky to see my best friend on Wed. but I am thinking not--8 hour
drive. Still---I really want to get out there.
Hope you all have a great easter. I ate a bit of ham and veggies and no
problems yet...we shall see. This is my spring break off from work so I
will be able to take it easy. My little one is up at my parents until my re-
check. Not supposed to lift heavy objects and while he is very small for
his age he is still 24lbs. He had a fit today cause I couldn't cuddle him.
Very frustrating for all...

Think I might go eat a chocolate bunny....

Beckygreat news! Happy Easter. Enjoy that bunny.
