So how is everyone doing today? | Arthritis Information

I personally have a headache. For more than one reason. LOL Oh I guess I feel a bit better. My RA has been great. My tooth I think is my problem. This is my front tooth. So not really happy about that.

All I care about is feelling better. For an abcessed tooth I guess I feel alright. My face has a bit of swelling. Not normal swelling because. it is above the side of my lip near the front of my cheek.

I get a variety of swelling in my face sometimes for AI reasons. Swollen glands Sjorgrens, RA ect.

When you have sinus troubles your teeth tend to hurt so it sometimes hard for me to tell right away if I should be concerned. Well often all of my teeth hurt from sinuses. So I try to go to the dentist pretty often because of the Sjorgren's.

It does seem to be a constant battle. The Dentist finds me challenging because of all of the pred and abx can hide a tooth infection. I am not taking prednisone so I do not think this infection will hide very well. I sort of wish it would hide.

Anyway I am fine if I can stay on abx till I see the dentist Feb 24th. My sinuses should be cleaned out well by then.

With the allergy shots this year I think things will go alot better for me.

Now I am wondering? Curious if this has anything to do with the gland over my eye? Well sometimes maybe I expect too much? It would be nice if that gets better when I get the tooth taken care of.
Hi, Milly,

I hope EVERYTHING gets better after you get that tooth taken care of. Good grief, woman! You have so many things going on right now, any one of which would make most people crazy. You have a calm, kind, heart, Milly. I love reading your posts.

I woke up this morning in a LOT of pain. I took a Tramdol, then took another. The pain finally calmed down. The doc wants to remove the bursa in my left hip. I just might let him!

Hope you feel better soon, Milly.

VA month ago my hip was hurting me very badly. So sorry you are having hip pain. I guess if the doctor thinks that will help maybe you should give it a try. I honestly do not know much about the removing the bursa.

I was hoping last month someone would remove my bursa or bust it or something. I took a pred pack and it helped. That almost never happens but it did work for me this time around.

Feel better soon. Let us know how things go for you.
Hello, Millie! I am sitting here waiting for the Tramadol to kick in so I can get ready for work. I have had several image guided steriod shots in the left hip. They just don't work anymore, and when it really flares up, it makes my knee ache, too. The doc wants to do an MRI of my hip before he removes the bursa to make sure he doesn't need to "clean out" my hip at the same time he is removing the bursa. It hurt so much this weekend that I had to use my cane until the drugs kicked in. I'm thinking that I am not getting any younger, so now may be the time to do it! It is supposed to stop the pain. That would be wonderful. I could probably cut my pain meds inhalf if that happened. Hope you have a good day, Millie. Take Care, VVee, I didn't even know a bursa could be removed.  In fact, I don't know what they do...other than cause pain.  I've had 4 bursa injections in the past year or so.  The injections don't hurt and they take the edge off the pain for awhile.  Hope you can get some relief from your bursa pain and that Millie gets her tooth taken care of.  Honestly-feeling pretty crappy.  Just got discharged from the hospital yet again.  Rt side pain that they were convinced was my appendix.  Nothing showed up on various tests but high blood pressure kept me in-167/?.  Obviously all this has thrown me into a huge flair.  I'm supposed to go to Duke Wed for Orencia but that probably won't happen.  I don't think it's working anyway.  Dr. wanted to wait until March to call it, but I'm ready to call it now. As we have been decreasing the pred the jaw opening has been decreasins, Uveitis in the eyes, and the blood pressure has been climbing.  Really don't want to get the heart involved yet again...

Well-that turned into a bit of a rant-sorry!

Vee, Milly-hope you guys feels better soon!  Flamingo-how's it going?
Rocckyd I hope things get straightened out soon. I think you earned a vent or two. Let us know what the RD says.

I had a very busy day. Got my allergy shot. Went to the drug store did chores. That is enough for one day. So glad the dishes are done. LOL

I had several bad days last week all I could do was sleep. So I have been trying to get caught up on the chores. Today was the first day of no headache in weeks. I did some chores yesterday because I had to but it was brutal. Today it was alot easier. I just hope I did not over do.

Switching back to Cipro for the tooth in a day or two . I wanted things to be done in case the tooth infection gets ahead of the abx. At least I have enough abx to get me to the dentist appointment so I can kick back and relax tomorrow.
Hello, everyone. I had some new symptoms pop up today. I was standing and turned to look over my shoulder. I turned at my waist. Big Mistake! A pain shot down my inner thigh, the same leg that has the swollen bursa in it, and my leg gave out. So strange. This happened to me three times today. Hmmm. Wonder if this is my hip or my back. Both are in questions per my orthos NP.

Hope you all will have a nice evening and a good night's sleep. Sleep is a good thing.

Peace,
VMy inner thigh muscles hurt sometimes. I do not know if that is the samething? I also have fibro so I can relate with you on that note.

Sometimes I wonder if my fibro is more irratated muscles from the joint swelling? Hard to say. It gets tricky to tell what causes what when you have different things. They all cause pain.

Oh well I continue to hope for a bit of magic to come along and make us all feel better. I hope you all find your magic soon.
I come to this site everyday to see how everyone is doing.  I cant help but think how fortunate I am by not being in the same pain and other problems many have.  I still have RA but the pain and swelling went almost away, I can always feel it and one day before my MTX I can really feel it.  All in all I feel good most of the time and I thank God.  (I always wait for the other foot to drop though)
Im sorry ya'll are here, but I dont feel alone and it helps
I wish you the best, feel well

I'm with gutch, kinda pain free these days and feeling lucky.  When I read the other posts of the pain and misery others are having I usually don't know what to say.  Try to contribute something here and there.  But I often think back to last summer, limping around, could hardly do much of anything, was painful to type on the computer.  My thoughts are always with ya'll.

Hello, everyone.

Happy you stopped by, Steven. All of us have good days and bad days. so happy your meds are working well.

Millie...I have Fibro, too, and it gets so confusing...trying to tell whether the pain is from the fibro, the OA, or the inflammatory osteoarthrits. It all hurts.

I think we are so much better off than back in the "olden days" as some of my relatives would say. I am especially thankful for the Tramadol that allows me to function.

No strange pains down my thigh today. Woo Hoo! I did get my hair cut this evening. I was sitting next to a lady and we started talking. She had a hip replacement five years ago. I told her about the inner thigh pain "thingy". She said it is my hip. Hmmmmmmm. We shall see.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Blessings,
VSnowOwl I am glad they got you in right away. Hopefully you will be feelling better in a day or two.

Rocckyd I am thinking about you. Let us know how things go tomorrow?

I took it easy today. So not much to say. My brother has the flu. Arghh! I have already it a few times plus I got a flu shot. Well he got a flu shot also and still has the flu. Who knows?

Glad to hear from everyone. I am glad that some of you are doing much better these days it gives the rest of us hope.
Same crap different pasture.

I was told by Express scripts that Arava is on back order til further notice  . So I can't start taking it .

We have been sharing the stomach bug, the entire family, including DH who has 256 accumulated sick days. He actually was out sick 2 days. and hes NEVER out.

On Friday I woke up with  flu symptoms, fever wracking chills and pain, headache. and then by late afternoon, it was GONE.. What in the world was it?

Kids report cards came home, Ally made 2nd honors again, but dropped like a rock in social studies. and Jakie got a glowing report from Pre K. he is really doing well. YAY kids.

Today I'm moving VERY slowly, ache everywhere and coughing like  crazy. fun.
Everyone is sick everywhere. Went to the drug store a few days ago and everyone was coughing.

I have a cold today. Very stuffy. I hope it is just a cold. I started sneezing last night and I am just a little slow moving today.

I plan to sleep most of the day today. It is 69 degrees outside maybe some warmer weather will help clear out some of these germs?
Well, now that I'm home after being in the hospital for 3 days I feel better.  Was admitted Mon through the ER with bilateral pneumonia through out, possible pulmonary emboli (CT scan ruled it out) and asthma.  I'm now filled with antibiotics, 80mg. of Pred., enough Albuterol to float a boat and assorted other drugs.  I'll come back and catch up and post when I have more energy.  Take care everyone.  RA wise I'm doing great but I have an odd feeling I won't be continuing Orencia infusions.  I have an appt. in 2 weeks with my RD to discuss.  LindyLinB I am so truely sorry. I know you have been sick for weeks with the UTI and now your upper respratory system has gone into pnuemonia.

These bugs going around right now seem somewhat abx resistant. Normal people are having a hard time getting rid of this junk. Honestly I was worried about you when you said throat bronchial  and sinus. I was hoping you had something different then what we have been dealling with.

My little six year old niece that was on abx all of December and pretty much on going scince had a fever of 100 yesterday after tylonol , ibuprophen and a bath. It just seems when we think she is well and stop the abx it comes right back on her. Very frustrating.

Get well soon. Plenty of liquids and rest. 80 mg of prednisone WOW!
I've been getting on fairly well ( for a gimp  :) thanks to the Arava I was prescribed about 12 months ago - still taking mtx and Celebrex.  Took a while to kick in tho.  Alarmed to read that Kathy's supplier said that Arava is "on back order till further notice".   Hope we still have plentiful supplies Down Under   - will find out tomorrow as have only 2 tablets left so need to visit pharmacy.
It seems that USA is being plagued with colds and flu, and a cold miserable winter.  Hope that sunny Spring days are with you shortly.  Just dont know how you all manage on those slippery sidewalks - I'm clumsy enuf on a dry one!

Lorraine
LinB I hope you are feelling a little better today. I also hope that you have some prilosec or something for heartburn. Albuterol and prednisone at high doses is not any fun at all.

Rocckyd I hope you are doing better also. I hope that at least they get a working plan into place to get you on your way to feelling better.

Get well soon my friends! Continued prayers.

I'm continuing to do well with my meds. I can now honestly say that I'm doing better than my elderly parents

I'm sorry for all of you who aren't feeling well. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I'm hanging in there.  So far stomach has been ok.  I was getting 80 mg steroid IV and am now on oral and stomach seems to be fine.  Really worn out but I was up  and around the house and I cooked supper just because I could!! Hope everyone is doing well.  Get well Milly.  Lindy
Hope you continue to feel better LinB.  Yep, I bet you have to come off Orencia.  This RA thing is like being on a roller coaster, up and down.

After reading through these posts, lots of couching etc starting up again.  I woke up with a sore throat, ear ache, and dizzy.  We are in "spring" here in Florida, and lots of pollen floating around.  Two friends also have the same symptoms.

RA is fair, little stiffness in fingers, lots of stiffness in toes, some hip pain and walking not too bad - that seems to be my new "normal".  Have now had 6 Enbrel injections and am now off Prednisone.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and can get some pain relief.
Good Morning, You're right Snow, I feel like I've been through the wringer but everything seems to be improving daily.  I must have missed some posts about your dental issues, ouchy!  I had mine a year and half ago.  I post on another forum  and there are several people there that are having major dental problems, much like yours.  I wonder if any studies have been done regarding dental complications and biologics?  I may try and do a search this afternoon.  I hope that you can start eating solids before mid March.  Take care.

Flamingo, Hi and hope your allergies calm down some.  You're headed into spring in Florida and the orange blossoms abound.  They smell divine but.........

Miles, it's great to hear that you're doing well.  The stories always inspire us to keep going.  Keep inspiring us.

Hi Milly, how's it going?

I'm off to rest again.  Lindy
Hi Everyone,

I feel brand new. And just in time for Spring. I hurt for all of you that hurt. The rituxan is still working like a miracle with no inflamation or pain in my joints. I like your posts but hurts my heart with your pains and trials.

LEV
I am still alive. Just waiting it out till the dentist appointment. Arghh! It has not been easy.

Six more days. I guess I feel better than yesterday. The RA has been good at least.

So, I'll be here over the weekend.  Joy of joys!  Drs are calling down to Duke to get some ideas.  Gi consult thinks the stomach lining could be inflammed from the RA.  That would explain the inability to keep food down and the total lack of appetite.  Can't leave till we solve the problem-especially since I have to be able to keep the pred and beta blocker down.

Had a 4hr test today where I ate radioactive scrambled eggs.  They then followed them through my system.

Have I mentioned how much I hate eggs...much less radioactive ones!

Rocckyd is that why your BP is so high because you can not keep the beta blockers down? Were you able to keep the radioactive eggs down?

I had the radioactive something once and it stayed in me for the bone scan and then came back up in the parking lot. So I think that would not have worked so well for me.

Well I hope next week brings better health to all of us. What a week! SnowOwl I hope you can eat solid food again soon also. I hope I can not eat solid food again soon. LOL

LinB drink some water. Plenty of fluids.

LevLarry you are still alive! That is wonderful!

Thanks for letting me know how you are doing. I tend to be a worrier! It seemed one by one that members were missing and I did notice. I do care how you are all doing.

Of course if you are ill call 911 first and let me know how you are doing later. Prayers and well wishes.
YIKES.

I took the kids swimming last night, went in myself and had a great time. Kind of tired today naturally.. BUT about 4 am jakie joined us in bed spiking a 103 fever and crying that everything hurt.  I think he has what I had last week.. or regular flu. Hes finally sleeping comfortably after a restless l sleep with LOTS of jerks and twitches.

and to add, even though shes not part of the group here, the kids other gramma has a bad bad bad case of shingles. She came here yesterday to ask if I couldhelp her somehow. She had called the VA clinic which blew her off. I took her there and told the receptionist " I am her friend but here today as her advocate. She is very sick and MUST be seen NOW" The receptionist took one look and went and got the DR. now THAT's service.

Ordinarily they would have made her go 50 miles to the VA hospital. but yesterday saw her and gave her the anti virals and pain meds on the spot. She is not assertive at all and is frequently  mis treated by  official type people.

oh brother.. Ally came home from an overnight yesteerday afternoon with a fever of 103, headache wracking chills.
shes been in bed since. and now I have what ever it is ..again.
I am so freaking sick of all this.
