I have always had nice strong nails...until I was diagnosed with RA that is and got on all of these meds. I am wondering if it was the latest addition of methotrexate that did this. Do you know if folic acid affects nail growth? The Dr. does have me on additional folic acid, just wondering if it's enough. My nails are peeling and cracking and are in the worst shape they have ever been in. Anyone else have this issue?
My nails used to be strong and healthy, and mine too, are now a mess. Since the first signs of RA, my nails have become thin and brittle and some almost look like they have tiny little craters in them. Again, I started having these problems with symptoms from RA, long before I started meds like MTX.
I think I've heard that nails reflect general health, but I'm not sure. Maybe one of the nurses will know???
Ugh..was afraid of that. Crunchy, everytime I see your sig line, I think about how I can't wait to be saying the same thing! I want OFF the prednisone!
