I Think I May Live After All | Arthritis Information

I really like the Singulair. Well I did have bronchitis but I am sure it was from an allergic reaction to the allergy shots that started it.

It took a couple of trips to the eroom to get better. It was pretty scary last weekend that is for sure. The 40 mg of pred a day and bottle of Leviquin did nothing and that was scary. The Kenalog shot and Sinulair did get the allergic reaction under control after a few days.

Then I took some Omnicef just seven days and that worked pretty quickly once the swelling from the allergy was down.

I was just begining to wonder if the allergic reaction was ever going to get any better so I could get well.

I have a bit of rash from the abx at the moment but not too serious. Once I hit an allergic state it tends to snow ball and create new allergic reactions. I was taking antihystamines last week and that along with pred can cause allergic reactions as a side effect. It was all unavoidable as I had to take all the meds too breath.

Did I mention it was scary! It was very scary. Mostly because the amount of meds I was taking should have worked alot sooner than what they did.

My gut swelled really bad also and it was very painful. So for now I am much better. I can breath.

So strange because getting the Kenalog shot while I was already on a high dose of pred was interesting. It swelled up in my hip muscle first. Then I had sort of a flare in all of my joints that bother me from time to time. It was a short flare. Everything swelled and then unswelled all in one night. Just the shot doing it's thing I guess?

Oh and some crazy thing happened. Like a cyst or something in my jaw area exploded. Maybe even it was in my sinuses I am not sure where or what it was. Just it expolded and a gush of fluid sprayed down my throat. I mean sprayed with great force like a hose would spray liquid. So I lived through it what ever it was. I think it was a good thing. Scince I am still alive that was nine days ago.

So that sort of hurt when it happened but sort of felt good like a release of pressure. It left things sore for a day like my jaw muscle but then no problem. So sort of a mystery.

So all is well except for one muscle under my shoulder that is just from doing too many dishes and such.

The Sjorgren's is doing wonderfully! The Singulair is not even drying me out at the current time. I have taken it every day for more than a week and it has not made me dry at all. It would be wonderful if the moisture level continues for awhile.

Last year I got some sort of a general cortisone shot, thats what the doctor called it, so not sure if it was a Kenalog shot or not? Actually not sure of the strength of the shot either that I got last last year.

Well anyway I was very dry last year even having gotten the shot and taking the Singulair everyday was a problem. I took it but I do remember having had to skip a few days. Well I was not having asthma or I would have taken it surely even if it dryed me out terribly.

I will just have to see how things go taking the Singulair everyday. Also I believe the Kenalog shot last 30 or 40 days a little bit anyway. So I should get a break here for a little bit. That is the plan anyway.

milly2011-04-03 19:24:44I'm glad you're doing better Milly.  You hang in there! Milly, I was thinking about you!  Am happy that you're feeling better.  I had a persistent URI that lasted 2 months, 4 different antibiotics, 4 days in the hospital but I feel great now.  Seems like everyone in our area was sick with it.  Take care.  LindyI'm glad to hear you are feeling better, Milly. That is some scary stuff when you feel like you aren't getting enuff air! Here's hoping you feel well for a long time!
