shoes that don't... Pinch | Arthritis Information

I'm on the hunt for a pair of comfy dress shoes for my big wide arthritis riddled feet.  I need special occasion shoes to wear to my son's wedding and don't want to pay an arm and a foot for them as I'll probably never wear them again!

Anyone have a favorite place on line to buy or brand?

Ugh. Good luck with that Waddie. The only shoes I can wear that are even semi-comfortable are Dansko clogs. I've had multiple surgeries on my feet, including fusions, so I have trouble even wearing tennis shoes. When my daughter got married, I ordered some dress shoes from Zappos...they ship to you within two days, and shipping and returns are free! I sent quite a few back until I was able to find a pair that "kind of" worked. I was able to keep them on through the wedding, then as soon as the reception started, I switched to my clogs...you couldn't really see them since my dress was floor length.

Check out Zappos.com and just look for shoes that you can kind of imagine working. Like I said, the return process is so easy...just print out a label and send them back free of charge. I probably ordered and sent back 8-10 pairs, and no questions asked. Good luck! Let us know what you find!
Brisen2011-04-16 17:07:24I used to wear Danskos until I broke one ankle at the start of the school year, and the other at the end.  Ortho told me to find new shoes.  I told him I thought they were good for RA feet.  However, they are not good for RA ankles.  Sad-loved those shoes.

Now I pretty much live in Keens.  They can be pricey, but so comfortable.
Good luck with that. Maybe some spoftspots? They have a web page. If you google it also it will show you some stores that sell them. They tend to have wide shoes and a variety of styles usually around eighty dollars.

I myself can not handle a heal because any weight on my toes or upper foot is not tolerated. So I can not say how comfy the heals are? The flats and casuals I have are pretty cozy.

Let us know what you decide. Now you have me in a shoe shopping mood. LOL I have to go back and take a look and see if anything looks comfy enough me me to ware more than once.
