I posted earlier that I had to stop taking plaquenil because of blurry vision, well I'm still waiting to hear from the doctors if he's going to call in something different to take it's place. I have called and left a couple of messages but no response. This is making me so mad that I'm going to start looking for a new RA doc. Why do they make you wait and wait and never get back to you? It makes me feel like I don't rate with them to get the care that I need for my RA. To top it all off I had cortisone injections in my knees on my last visit ( a week ago) and now I'm getting the knee pain back. I thought they were suppose to last a couple of months. I was starting to feel so much better but I'm afraid the doctor is going to wait to long to get back to me that I'll go back to the way I was.

They might be closed for the holiday.  I hope you get a response soon.  Try to take it easy until then.  I know it must really have you nervous.  It is going to be okay, hang in there.  Yes, a lot of offices are closed today. I had cortisone shots - I guess they last different amounts for different people, and for people at different times. I had one round that lasted about 4 days, but the ones in my toes have kept things in pretty good shape for over a month.

Good luck with that!
The office is actually open today. I called this morning and spoke to the receptionist and she transferred me to the doctors assistants voice mail. This is the second time this week (1st time on Tuesday) that I've left a message and now it's Friday and they still haven't gotten back to me. I doubt I'll hear anything today from them but they are open.Maybe you need to look around for another rheumatologist, or do you have a primary care physician you could call? I know there is an extreme shortage of rheumatologists.  Mine is in semi retirement and has reduced hours. Still, she is pretty good about getting back to me or having her nurse call me. If you get put on enbrel or one of the other biologics, you might have a nurse contact number. I've called numerous times at all hours of the day.  Good luck and hope you get your meds resolved soon. It can be so frustrating. Man, here in Pheonix, we have 40 rheumys in the area.  I called about my liver tests and they called me back that afternoon.  I am feeling really lucky.

I hope you got the call you were waiting for.  Hang in there.  I know how much it sucks.
They should be returning your calls. Unless they have a mighty good excuse, there IS no excuse. Your questions are legitimate, to you, they're urgent and deserve an answer now. Maybe you should be looking for a new doctor.
Hi Jay...did you get your call? One thing that has worked for my mom after waiting for doctors to call back is to send a fax to the doctor stating the question at hand and mentioning the number of times already called. On more than one occaision this has prompted a quick return call.Good luck, Jay! It's good that there's another doctor out there for you. I hope this one is more responsive.
