Newly Diagnosed | Arthritis Information

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis today, finally!  It's been a long and difficult road to get where I am, so many tests, so many questions, so much pain.  But at least now I know what I have and am taking steps to protect my joints and alleviate pain.

I've been all over the internet, reading, researching, gleaning info from every corner of the www.  I've been reading at one really good forum (AFF) and over there somewhere brought up this forum, not in the most flattering way either, but I figured what the heck I'll check it out.

I'm sorry I did.  I've spent the last 2 hours reading through the most ridiculous, perverse, insane, nasty, sickening, even psychotic, crap I've ever laid my eyes on.  If it weren't for the few informative posts one lady makes I would think I'd come across some weird joke of a place but unfortunately it's for real.

Do any of you have any idea how childish and mental you sound???  I mean really...mental!!!  To say that I'm shocked is a complete understatement, I've heard about crazy loons on the internet, I think they all gather here.  I don't get it, this should be a place one can go for help, support, instruction, but it's nothing but a joke!

For those of you who are here for the right reasons, I was NOT referring to you, I'm sure I don't have to tell you who I am referring to.  For the mental cases, the problem posters, the troublemakers...I feel sorry for you if this is really how you are, how you live your life and how you treat people.  Obviously you have more health issues than just RA, apparently you have serious personality disorders as well as mental problems.  I hope you get help.

Back to the other forum I go, I wish I could say I enjoyed the visit, but it was more like a visit to a sanitarium or some twisted nightmare.  Good luck to the sincere, suffering people here.
Hi RockiesLady, and welcome! I've been a member of this forum for the past 4-5 years, and I can tell you that when it's at its best, it the best and most informative forum out there. Unfortunately, you have come at a time of major discourse, and sadly it's only about 5 members that are ruining it for everyone. Please just try and pick through the posts you want to read, and ignore the others.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis, but you're certainly not alone. What medication/therapy are you on? Has it helped yet? Please let us know how you're doing!
I just wanted to welcome you and I understand exactly what you're saying.  Come back and read because between the discourse there are informative and helpful posts by the members of the board who refuse to participate in the "kooky" posts.  LindyDONT LET THE DOOR SLAP YOU ON YOUR BIG FAT ASS AS YOU LEAVE

Welcome to the board
