Still alive! | Arthritis Information

As my first official post here in, gosh I don't know how long I'd like to say that I've been doing great on Orencia!  I still have lots of fatigue for some reason and I'm not in what I consider to be remission but I am doing well.  I've managed to get back down to 5mg prednisone daily (some of you may remember when I was on 100mg daily.)

I've also managed to lose a little over 100 pounds and stop my blood pressure meds which is awesome.  Actually, now my bp runs a little low and my resting heart rate is around 60bpm.

I just wanted to pop in and say hi to those that I have chatted with over the years and to tell you that I'm still around though I just lurk and read more than anything.

My best to you all.
Bob
welcome  back bob.   good to see you,  we are still about the same around here,  we all have our ups and down.  I'm  so happy  that  you got your prednisone  down  and your blood pressure   down.  and a big  weight lose sounds like your doing something  right,  people  around here are  very helpful,  they give you answers and if they don't know they will look  it up for you,  I  find  the  support  I  need  here even if it's  crazy  around here sometimes. Bob,
I've been around here from time to time reading posts.  Lots of new folks but still some of the familiar names too.  What made me decide to speak up is that RA commercial with the poor woman who is in pretty bad shape. (Martha Borst is her name I think)  I thought man I have had RA for most of my life and I'm not nearly as she seems to be so be thankful.  If you don't know me then you really can't tell I have RA.  (I'm so very thankful of this too)

Orencia isn't a miracle treatment but I'm afraid to try anything else and at this point I'm just going to stick it out until the effect fades.  Then I'll worry about another treatment option.

Bob
Bob, I was able to stay on Orencia for two years. After about a year and a half, the effects started to subside, so my RD upped my 1000 mg dose to infusions every two weeks instead of once monthly. Keep this in mind in case you do start developing antibodies to it and it starts to lose it's effectiveness. Good luck! Congratulations on your weight loss Bob!  Glad to hear you are doing so well.  It is an inspiration to hear good outcomes!
