Medicine making nails curl up? | Arthritis Information

Has anyone had the tips of their fingernails curl up?  I have just noticed this so I went to have a manicure.  The nail tech told me to look into my medications and sure enough MTX says it can do this.  Anyone else has experience with this?  I get sick of all the wierd things that have happened to me since I got RA.

I take MTX, enbrel, prednisone, salsalate and plaquinel (sp?)
Mine don't curl "up" but they do have some weird waves in them. And I also get ingrown fingernails to the point where they leave tiny blood blisters where they press against my flesh. I've also noticed my nails are very thick and extremely hard.

Weird, huh?

None of you care about your health as long as you can take the drug shortcut who cares. You are all a group of crybaby losers. harassment?Mine are really weak My  nails  are  very  thin  and break  easy  way  down  the  finger  they  also  crack  in  the  middle  going  down,   I  try  to  keep  them  as  short   as  I  can,  they  also  have  the  ridges  or  waves.   before  RA  I  had  long  pretty  nailsMost drugs used for the treatment of RA have side effects e.g enbrel has been known to result to Asthma, hypertension and even Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. The body is bound to react to the changes like hair loss, weak nails etc. Having a well balanced diet is important to keep some of the side effects at bay. http://www.arthritisjointpaingone.com
