I cannnot stress enough how important it is for you to have your Dr. order a Dexascan if you are taking Prednisone. Especially if you are a post-menopausal woman. I seriously broke both of my wrists 4 weeks ago to the day, causing the need for surgery where I had plates and pins permanantly put in.
I am not even 49!
Anyway, I can still type even though both wrists don't function. The splints allow my fingers to move freely. It will be many many months before I am able to return to work, and I will never have full mobility at that. I am not saying any of this to ask for pity.............no! My family and friends have been wonderful! I am saying it to ask you to be careful if you know you have bone loss; my wrists would not have broken, the Dr said, if I had healthy bones. Who knew?
So maybe since I don't 'hopalong' anymore, I'll have to think of some other name! Hee, hee.........any ideas? Smiles,
