Memory Foam Mattress And Arthritis | Arthritis Information

Not posotive, but i think this is another person trying to make money off their google ads.

I do have something to say though, i bought the ,000 bed over a year ago and gave it away about 6 months later.  I couldn't sleep in it cuz it didn't have bounce, so i had to use my legs more etc. to roll over and it really hurt everything.

I have a 2in mattress on my bed which I LOVE, they also come in 4in size.  Overstock.com has great prices on these, i bought my 2in at sams club though.

I have a memory foam topper on my bed now myself an it's pretty good. I can see your point though Shan about the bounce.

If anyone is looking to invest in an expensive bed look into the Sleep Number bed. I've heard so many good things about those.

I bought the sleep number bed a couple years ago. It was a night mare to put together. Once I got it together I just couldn't get the right setting. It was either too soft or to firm. I sent it back which was fun putting it back in the boxes. I now have a memory foam topper. I paid about 100.00 for it. It isn't perfect but it's better than the mattress, it's too hard and hurts my hips. I do understand some people swear by the sleep number and I think it is a personal thing. PatI purchased a Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress in February beacuse my hips and shoulders hurt to lay on them. The mattress has helped. I was worried it would not give me enough support for my back, but that has not been the case. My back is doing fine. I do have to pull my knees up towards my chest to turn over, but my PT says thats the way we are suppose to turn over in bed anyway. The mattress company lets you try out the bed for 90 days and if you are not happy with it they let you return it. That seem like a fair deal to me. Anyway I am pleased with my very pricey mattress. After all though I spend 1/3 of my life on it (or maybe more these days)

The thing I really like about the "sleep number" bed is that it doesn't break down where my big ol' rear end lays.  Every other mattress I've owned starts to sag in that area.  This bed is as good as it was the day we bought it.  We had to have the pump replaced once, but it was under warranty, and didn't cost us a thing.

I've always wanted to try the Tempur-Pedic mattress for a night to see what it's like.   I was wondering if it holds body heat a lot, and makes you hot?  Since I'm in that pre-menopause stage, I do get hot at night!

Even though the person who post this is nothing but another person trying to get our money, I prefer the sleep number bed.  I have had it now for 6 yrs and really like it.  another thing is if you use a heating pad or a heated matress pad, you can not use it on the foam bed. memeChalk me up as another who LOVES my sleep number bed - I don't toss and turn hardly at all (except on nights I'm worried about something!). I am very confused why Pat52 had to put it together! When I bought mine, they came and put it together for us (included in the bed price). Not only that, they said if or when we ever move, the company sends someone out to unassemble it for us and packs it up! I was very impressed with the service. Incidently, anyone interested - MY number is usually 25 or 30 for the best night's rest. My husband likes 45 to 50 better. It might have something to do with your weight (I weigh 130).   My bed doesn't have any box springs on it, in fact it doesn't have any springs. This bed is very old and the frame has pegs that you put rope on and weave it from peg to peg, like if you were lacing up a shoe. I've had it for years and the only hard thing is re-doing the rope after it gets worn. I have a regular mattress and there's plenty of support with bounce. Maybe, I'll break down one of these days and get a whole new bed!!

MarisaI would love a craft matic type with my topper on it.  I would love to bend my legs up in the middle of the night.Hi, I'm very new to this forum but I thought I would let you know what I
have done. I have the sleep number bed (go to their web site, they are
cheaper)with the 2" foam topper on top of it. Yeah, a little pricy but to
finally be able to sleep with little pain is worth it. I have been dealing with
this crumby chalenge of RA since 1997
