OT: Hearing Aids | Arthritis Information

I am thinking of getting a hearing aid. For those that have them, what are the pro's & con's. Besides the cost???!!!I don't know anything about hearing aids...just wanted to say that I wish my husband would see about getting a hearing aid.  He says I'm a low talker.  I guess that means everyone on tv is a low talker as well, because anytime he watches tv, the volume is up way too high.  Silly man won't admit he might need a hearing aid.

Hi jello,
I am not to knowledeable about hearing aids but a few of my older friends are starting to use them.  I think it may depend on what type of hearing loss you may be having as to what style hearing aid you may need.
I think I would talk to as many  hearing specialist and get as much information as you can before deciding on any particular style. Most important would be that it is comfortable for you to wear and aslo allows you the best hearing quality.

Good luck with finding the best aid for your particular needs.

Hey Kelly great to see you.

had to laugh at your remark.  My husband says the same thing.  Says I am mumbling but everyday I hear that TV and Radio get louder and louder....

jello.. I have aids.. I've had the thousand dollar ones.. and I now use these:Kelly, LOL, that is so typical of a person that has trouble hearing. Putting the blame on someone else makes one feel better. I use the mute button a lot.
Waddles, thanks for your reply and what you say is true.
babs, Thanks for the info. I checked out the website and it sounds promising. My sister-in-law has spent ,000 so far just trying to hear and my brother-in-law traveled to Boston for surgery and an implant which does not work and he paid, (believe it not) ,000! So that has put me on guard price wise. Geez, what next.
Also babs, my hearing fluctuates and I bet inflammation has something to do with it. My hearing is worse on a cloudy rainy day which increases inflammation. It's a no win situation!
Thank you all for the info.[QUOTE=waddles]
