Just Need to Vent | Arthritis Information

RD put me on Enbrel and upped my MTX to 8 pills a week.  Had a cough for 4 months, had an x-ray and breathing test - good news, no COPD.  Cough seemed to go away on its on.  Enbrel helped with fatigue and better walking ability. Good news. Thanks for the kind words and support.  Maybe I am over-reacting and being concerned about having a blocked carotid artery because again today the results haven't been sent to my doctor.  They were promised for Monday a.m. and may be available on Wednesday.  Maybe no news is good news.As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as over-reacting when it comes to your heart. I'm sure Lindy will chime in here, she also has heart problems, most likely related to her RA. Has your doctor talked about doing a carotid endarterectomy? More than likely, they will put you on Plavix, or some sort of blood thinner. Please let us know when you get the final results...and please know we're all here for you!  Like everyone else, I don't think there is ever a reason to be under concerned about your heart health, especially when it comes to the fairer sex, saying that with tongue in cheek and RA.  Vent all you want...it actually does the heart good. Flamingo...Lynn49 posted a great article today, titled The increased cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis: when does it start? I immediately thought of you and your carotid stenosis, so bumped the article up to the top. Definitely worth reading. Have you heard from the doctor yet?

Please vent all you want. I must say I am glad they found this when they did before the blockage gets any worse.

Please let us know what you find out. Continued prayers!
Thanks Gale and Milly.  That was a very interesting article.

I don't blame you for being mad about the records.  Hopefully that will resolved soon.  Knocking someone out will just lead to a swollen hand.  Who wants to add more sore joints to themselves :)
