Question For The Ladies | Arthritis Information

Hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a really, good working, electric shaver for legs. It's practically impossible for me to bend over and shave my legs in the shower anymore, and haven't been able to get in and out of the bath tub for several years. I tried using several of the depilatory creams, but they don't do the job. Ideally, I should shave at least every other day, to prevent stubs, but that just doesn't happen any more.

Years ago I used an electric razor, but I felt like I could never get a close shave. So I'm looking for a really good one, one that doesn't leave any stubble. Any ideas? Thanks ladies!!  Hi Gale, I don't use an electric razor.  I pull a small chair up beside the sink, fill the sink with hot water, use hair conditioner on my legs and shave.  I can prop my foot up on the tub surround easily.  It's easy for me to shave that way.  The hair conditioner is a great shaving lotion.  LindyHi Brisen,

I don't use an electric shaver either-however due to "extremely sensitive" skin, I've tried MANY things...and now that I've found "Gillete Venus Breeze" I will never go back to trying anything else!!!! (I've been using it for many yrs. now)(Gee...I sound like a commercial

Sandy.
Thanks Lindy and Sandy. After thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be happy with an electric razor...they just leave too much stubble. The Gillete Venus Breeze sounds like something that might work, since it just needs to be wet for the soap to work. Sandy, does that sound like something I could do sitting on my bed with a towel underneath, and maybe a small container of water to wet and rinse the razor? I'm at wits end with this leg shaving business and need to find something that works! I  use  a  small  shower  chair  and  set  to  shave  and clean  legs  and  feet,  most  are  not  heavy  and  are  easy  to  move.    You could also use it to hold rolled up extra towels and it becomes a decorative item as well. Hi Gale,

Yes..you can def. shave while on your bed

Take care and good luck!

Sandy.
I also use the Venus.. best razor out there..
