I haven't been here for years!!! | Arthritis Information

Out of the blue I thought of this forum today. I've been going through a bit of a tough time lately with my relationship and it wasn't until I sat down and considered all of the ups and downs in my life that I released that life goes on and u come out of the other side when you hit an obstacle.

I was diagnosed with sero negative RA at the age of 18/19. At first it hit my hands and then gradually my feet went and then it got the point one day when I couldn't get out of bed because of my swollen knees. Absolutly awful. Luckily I was placed under an excellent doctor who put me straight onto Methotrexate immediatly and my really bad days were minimal. My dosage was gradually reduced and thankfully since coming completly off of my medication when I was about 21, I am symptom free. I am now 26. I now work with the Consultant that I was under organising the admin for his clinics and he is a little baffled as to how it has gone completly.

Today I have been quite emotional. Where I was quite young at the time, it never really hit me about what I could have been facing if I wasn't one of the lucky ones that went into remission. This board was an amazing support and really helped me through the years, allowing me to understand the ins and outs of RA and speak to people who offered me wonderful support and guidance. For this I would like to say thank you.

Best of luck to you all in the future xxx
