Do the biologics have the capacity to damage your liver, like MTX and Arava do? Can you take a biologic without having to take MTX or Arava?

VI don't think they do..my Rd insists that I keep with the MTX, I have lowered it on my own and now maybe paying the price.:(( I'm on Remicade which has been really good for me.. I'm only have the infusions every 3 months..hate having to take them both...According to my RD, biologics do have the potential to cause liver damage. My LFT's have occasionally gone up and then back down, but when I was on AP therapy, they were consistently elevated. As long as you have routine lab work done, you should be OK.
