How did the Rituxan go Lindy? | Arthritis Information

Hi Lindy, just thinking about you and wondering how your first Rituxan infusion went today? Sure hope it becomes your wonder drug! Take care!! Same here...please check in!It was an uneventful day, thankfully.  I was terrified but had nothing to worry about.  Started the infusions about 8:15 and was finished and out by 1:30.

Really enjoyed the IV Benadryl high!!!!

The infusion nurse took full set of vitals every 1/2 hour, stayed with the two of us who were getting Rituxan and my RD checked in every hour.  That helped make me feel a little more confident in the process.

I have little pain this morning but it has to be coincidence.  Couldn't work that quickly.  I have some aching and that's it.  Maybe because the stress is over.  The next few days will tell the story.  I'll start tapering Pred. tomorrow.  All in all it was a comfortable experience.  My biggest complaint is the chairs were uncomfortable.  Thanks for asking.  All of you were a big help to me, when I needed help and my sincere thanks to all.  Lindy
LinB2011-06-24 10:39:45Hi Lindy! Glad everything went well with your first infusion! Like I said above, I really hope this turns out to be your wonder drug. And that's fantastic that you're experiencing little pain this morning...coincidence or not! Good luck with the prednisone taper!
Thanks Gale.  I just realized why I have no pain today.....part of the prep was a shot of Solu Medrol and that's on top of 25 mg. of Pred.  Plenty of steroids flowing.  I forgot about the injection, but I'm still hoping.  LindyHi, Lindy. I was just checkin in, too, to see how your infustion went. So happy it was uneventful. That is a blessing. Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you that this is the drug that does the trick. Blessings, VWishing you the best. I hope this works for you. Thanks for the update!I was one mean beast on Friday....too many steroids made me crazy for the day.  It was the worst I've ever been when taking steroids, angry, no patience, couldn't focus, fragmented, yuck.  Saturday I was fine, thankfully because I helped with a fundraiser for the Country Fair.  If the fundraiser had been Friday I wouldn't have been able to help.  I guess I have to go through the process again in 11 days but I'll be prepared mentally for the steroid stress and not make any plans for 2 days after the infusion.  LindyUgh. Sorry you had to go through that Lindy. High dose steroids make me a little crazy too...absolutely no patience and lots of frustration...and sweating. Not to mention not being able to sleep at night. Glad it only lasted a couple of days Definitely something you'll want to consider for your upcoming infusion. I'm on a medrol dose pack right now, in addition to my 15 mg daily of Prednisone, so sleep has been rather elusive since Thursday. Hopefully in a couple days when I'm down to my maintenance dose it will get better. On a positive note, my pain has been much better the past couple of days! How's your pain Lindy? I know you said you felt better the day after the infusion, but was it just the steroids, or are you still feeling less pain? Sure hope this is your magic ticket!
