Has anyone tried acupunture to relieve some of the pain. I want to look into other treatments. I want to beat this without the meds beating me first. My health insurance pays for certain number of acupunture treatments. I just wanted to know if anyones tried and had any success. I dont want to waste time and money. No experience here. It could work, maybe...but I dont think I would do it, it looks painful!I don't have any problems with needles I'm diabetic. I deal with this daily. The pain most of us feel daily doesn't compare to a little needle. My dad tried it for his shoulder and really liked it.

I've never tried it, but my husband has for his back.  But it didn't do much for him.  I can't see how it would help for RA, but you never know.

A little off topic here.  My sister-in-law was born in Hong Kong.  All of her family is living here in Canada now.  Her father was told he had cancer...somewhere in the throat I believe.  He had some treatments done here but was told there was nothing more they could do for him and that they couldn't get rid of the cancer.  He decided to go back to Hong Kong and get treatment there.  He came back almost a year later and the doctors here coudn't find the cancer...it was totally gone.  His treatments in Hong Kong were all natural remedies.  He's been cancer free for many years now.  So who knows...it could have been what he did in Hong Kong...could have been that it was going to happen anyway no matter what he did...could have been just positive thinking...my point I guess is, it doesn't hurt to try these alternative treatments.

Great story Kel.  I believe in Eastern medicine plus I don't trust drug companies.  Having said that - I am trying some alternative methods along with western medicine.  I will be starting acupuncture soon.  Let you know if it helps.  HUGZYou know I think that things like that really work for people who believe that they will. I dont think you can go into something like acupuncture or aromatherapy or meditation etc with a closed mind and then have it work. If you really believe it can help, you should go for it...it probably will work for you at least to some degree.

Having an open mind is the key. If you believe it won't work Crunch is right; it won't work.

Same applies with everything else in life though. The mind is a powerful thing. If you go around repeating in your head all day "I feel great. What a wonderful day" this will come to pass. Same applies for negative thoughts as well. If you are wondering through life with a woe is me attitude; where nothing goes your way and you constantly think to yourself "My life is horrible. Nothing ever goes right for me.....I feel horrible." This will come to pass as well.

I'm not saying that with the power of mind control we can make our RA go away.....but I can promise you that with the proper mind set and the practice of postive thinking your life will improve greatly.

Thank you for all of your help. Roxy let me know how it goes. I think I will try it. I hate taking meds unless I absolutely have to.
