Does anyone get easily burned out side from taking the mtx? I was outside for maybe half an hour with my babies I got lobster red. That usually ony happens when Im outside for a couple of hours without sun screen. We haven't had a whole lot of sun in the 2 weeks I've been on it, Nichole. That IS one of the listed side effects. I burn like that anyway, and tend to avoid the sun except a few minutes a day.

They say don't go out without covering up & wearing strong sun screen.
Well that sucks because my children love to play outside. I ve always had problems with sun burns. Im casper the freindly ghost thats what everyone use to call me. Im an outside person I wonder if there is something else I can do. My children needs come first then mine. My sanity kind of depends on them playing outside too confined inside for them I guess. Get spf clothing, there is spf clothing out there that you can wear and it will help keep you from getting a sunburn, I have a few items myself including a couple hats with spf 45.  You can wash these items and they don't lose their spf at all!!  Make putting spf on every morning as part of your morning routine, your children should be using it too.  With the meds we are on and the illnesses we have it is important to protect ourselves from sunburn.  meme

I very seldom wear sun block. I know I should, but I love to get a tan.  We just put a pool in last year and I had one sunburn, then just a nice tan afterwards. I think though, this year I might be a little more careful.

last summer i went fishing with husband, wearing a sleeveless shirt.no sunblock.my upper arms got 1st and 2nd degree burns. was in awful pain for weeks.learned my lesson fast. sunscreen and shade. i was on mtx, enbrel.now im on mtx, plaq, sulfas.all have warnings about sun on them.taking no chances this year.

Hi,

I've been on mtx for over a year now and although I have never gotten burned, I have noticed that I am increasingly sensitive to the sun. As someone said, when you are taking mtx, you need to be more sunsmart. I haven't been as good as I should be with regards to sun exposure, but the longer I stay out in the sun, the more likely I am to get a really bad headache and the general feeling of fatigue. I never used to have any problems like that before, which is why i really notice it now.
Hi!
I am new here but YES you can easily burn with mtx.I have been on it for
about 6 years and I learned very quickly.Wear a hat,use sunscreen,and
enjoy the outdoors
