Failed Rituxan | Arthritis Information

 

Two weeks ago I finished my second infusion of rituxan.. grrrr.. no miracles. I have been diagnosed with RA for probably 6 years and have a stubborn case of it. I have gained 40 lbs since. I need to loose 60 lbs. My doctor now wants me to try Orencia. He said I could start it anytime, it did not matter that I just did two infusions of rituxan. I am tired of this medical treadmill, and usually have a great attitude; but I am low. I almost want to ditch all the drugs and try something alternative. If only terrible pain wouldn't come.. Any thoughts??? I guess I am now worrying about my heart ,  lymphoma.. grrrrr.. I am not usually like this.

I am also worried about it because the Remicade caused me to quit breathing on three seperate occasions. Now I learn that Orencia is made from the same mouse protein. My doctor keeps telling me I should not have the same reaction to Orencia. Even so I have about talked my self out of it. I just don't know and I am tired of trying new drugs and then reading about all the bad stuff 10 months later they cause.

The Enbrel failed me,so I am to go into the drug study for Rituxan in 2 weeks. Not quite sure how to feel about this drug. Not many things scare me, but this one does! I'll let you all know how this works for me. I think I'm more scared about being sick the next day. Let ya know! I have gone three rounds with the rituxin. It did not work ar all. Also I was allergic to it as well. I hope it works for you.
