Hey everyone:) Im new here but I thought this seemed like a cool group. Here is my situation. I am 20 years old, and have always been very athletic. I have always had problems with my knees and have already had 4 knee surgeries, wich have brought no luck. They are saying my next step is having my kneecaps replced, a surgery called a Patellofemoral Replacement. It is fairly new and i cant find much information on the outcome of it... Has anyone had it or do you know of anyone that has had it?? If you could help give me a little info i would greatly appreciate it!!

Is this a partial knee replacement by any chance? You'll probably have to search a large university medical school website if its a new surgery. Be sure and post what you find out, I'm sure other people here will be interested. Good luck to you.

I realize this is an old post..  but I had my knee cap replaced a long long time ago.

37 years ago to be exact..

My knee cap had almost deteriorated to nothing due to JRA.... I didnt' work the rehab as I should and still do not have full mobility... and now w/ RA on top of that..it's my worst joint of all... not because of the surgery....but because of the JRA .

I guess I wasn't aware that they coukld replace the knee cap too. I had a "total" knee replacement about two and a half years ago and now have a cracked knee cap. The Doctor thinks it's a stress fracture. My knee has hurt less since it cracked, but now is getting a lot worse.

jorgiehello....I have not been here for a long time,,,,,but have question re arthritis in knee.  Over the past two weeks I have had big time knee pain, Dr. said I have Baker's cyst in back of knee....that was all she had to say,     caused by inflammation from arthritis in knee.....anyone have anything further re this.....tks   Rose I just got a cortisone shot in my right knee, and a new brace for my left. Much better on both!!
