clinics? | Arthritis Information

Has anyone ever tried one of the clinics in Europe or Mexico? I would love to think there is a way I could get off all of this medicine and go into remission. I haven't but if you do this keep us posted.  I would love to go off my meds because of remission, but don't see this happening anytime soon.

Firstly you need "appropriate herbs" to address the PAIN and effective to "convert" toxic in the body gradually into wastes and dispose them naturally.

Next is diet, correct natural foods will keep a good balance and replenish the body system to fight the disease effectively.

Arthritis is a slow disease, so likewise reversal is the same. It takes time year by year but the result is positive.

My 15 years of drug free experience I like to share. If one is drown in cocktail of drugs as only dependence than one cannot understand the good side of correct herbs and natural foods.

Fighting the disease needs right mindset, belief, determination, consistency, discipline besides "appropriate herbs" and correct natural foods. There is no easy fix system.

Watch out for that one!

There are some new studies out and I even asked my RD about this as well and the current news is that there is no connection between food and RA. There are some things that you can do to help reduce inflammation, but in most cases it is not enough to eliminate the ammt. of inflammation assoc. with RA.  And yeah, I agree with staylor,  a clinic in Mexico would be the last place I would go. People come to TX from Mexico for healthcare.  I could see how a healthy lifestyle like eating right, gentle exercise, and relaxation techniques like meditation and a good massage could make RA much more bearable...but you dont need a clinic for that.  You could put most of those principles into action at home.

well, while the "correct herbs" and "correct food" is slowly working, how are we supposed to WORK.???   I need to live for the here and NOW - I have kids to feed ........

I am "drown in the cocktail of drugs" because I dont have a choice... i cannot wait for the "correct" things to work....slowly.

i'm glad that it's worked for you........ and there's NOTHING wrong with eating right and taking the "correct" herbs.... but if I cant work, I cant afford ANY food or herbs, much less the CORRECT ones.. which are inevitably way more expensive.

please dont preach.  share your knowledge.. and your experience... but dont chastize people for being on cocktails.

maybe i'm taking it wrong, and if i am - i'm sorry...

it just rubbed me the wrong way right now.  do you think I LIKE taking prednisone and MTX and Enbrel?  Dont you think that if I could get relief from eating "correctly" that I would?   I've been there - done that.  Doesn't work for everyone.

sorry
woobie

In fact, I sincerely feel sorry for many of them for all the sufferings-the immobililty, the pain and progress of the disease, the symptoms of side effects, the health problems and surgeries. By advising others to eat correct foods and taking herbs is not preaching, if you want to hear preaching go to church. It is a valuable advice from an experienced person to all arthritics who wish to improve their health to combat the disease. The disease is in the hands of oneself. The overall reversal is slow not "slowly" when flare up.

Eating correct foods need awareness, knowledge and learning in relation to the disease. How are you to know if you do not believe and are not learning to accept the natural correct foods-god's gifts. It is better for you to stay where you feel more comfortable. The learning process never ends. If you do know, it is just an elementary stage. There is vast knowledge and goodness in "natural foods world".

The sword being used has two edges-agressive drugs have serious side effects and control of disease is short term. The progession of aggressive drugs and severity is parallel but in the natural foods world, it is the reversed situation.

Eat correct foods for better health and less sufferings that makes life more meaningful.

kokako8838842.0130208333The only thing that feels better when someone takes his "correct herbs" is kokako88's wallet!

Hillhoney, you feel better exactly like the icon of the crippling moving person. It goes to pharmaceatical cos. and medical providers' wallets. You are their targets, you come to them begging with pain and willingly contribute to their wallets.

The growers and sellers of vegetables and fruits, the herbs collectors, the herbalists get their payments for goods sold-a normal way of  social living. Kokako88 gives you a valuable lead and you abuse it

Today, modern force is natural foods, even pharmaceautical cos. have for the past decade researched into herbs and plants, besides the flourishing clinics(emphasize on natural foods) in America, Europe, India, Japan etc.. The organic and health foods stores, the vege and healthy foods' restaurants, the MLM health products etc. everywhere. The Western and Eastern (Traditional Chinese Medicine) combined hospitals have been gaining popularity.

Natural foods is part of our lives-we "eat to live" healthily and enjoy quality of our lives. If we choose "live to eat" unhealthy foods and drugs then we have to expect the sufferings and poor quality of our lives - very simple rule.

I am fortunate to search, learn, have many trials and frustrations, and finally found the solution that I can come out of cocktail of drugs to eat natural foods and enjoy the quality of life.

Not gonna waste my time arguing with you.  you missed my point.

woobie

You know I just read an article in the current issue of Arthritis Today. It said that if your body is lacking selenium you are more prone to OA. It also said that many Asian countries have soil that does not contain very much selenium.  I wonder if that is why some of the supplements work so well for some people. It did also mention that trying to add selenium to your regimine can be dangerous if you accidentaly get too much and should only be taken from foods and not supplements. Anyways, that is for OA, not RA. He does have a point. We have to look at the chemicals we are putting in our body. While I am resigned to my drug cocktail. I dream of tapering off. All disease starts with inflammation. How do we reduce inflammation to make us feel better?? I try to eliminate all processed foods from my diet. Eating whole, healthy foods. I have gone from barely walking to exercising strenuously again. It helps me to focus on HEALTH rather than disease. That is just my opinion.I find the thing that keeps me from leading a healthy lifestyle, which I had been doing up until three months ago, is the pain and fatigue. Without that, I could exercise like I would like to. If there was a way to eliminate the pain and the feeling of tiredness, then you would be free to live your life the way you want to. The medications they give is a true help to those who take it. Nobody disputes the benefits of natural foods and herbs, but not everyone could afford it either. Both money wise and the time it take for them to actually cause a positive effect. Until they start to work, what are people supposed to do? I am one of those people who support themselves - I am not married and have nobody by myself to count on to work and generate income. Well, in my case, save money for school again. It is scary the drugs people talk about on this site. And also, I see it is very much needed. Too bad the drugs you do have to take, cause other adverse problems. What is used to help with one problem, only causes another in time. Yes, that can't be good for you, but it can't be helped either. It is a two edged sword... but that can't be helped. Life is like that at times. You do the best you can, and you do what is best for you and your situation. I am scared I might have to take some of this harsh drugs in the future, but if the time comes that I will have to... so be it. I want to be able to function like a normal human being again. I like working, I like being productive, and I like being able to support myself. Drug companies are controlling everything, but like gas prices these days.. not too much can be done about it. People need the medications, and they know it.

The thing is, the disease is not inflammation. Inflammation is a symptom of the disease. Treating the symptoms is important so that we have relief from the pain and the inflammation and the fatigue, but if you ONLY treat the symptoms you are only putting a bandaid on the situation. If you treat the disease you are increasing the possibility of remission or...dare I say a cure. Yea, I know that is way optimistic...but I dont want to be in a wheelchair in 10 years from now either. You can ask any doctor, or just about anyone else for that matter and they will agree that eating a healthy diet, getting exercise, not smoking, limiting alcohol and stress will all make anyone...RA or not feel better. Im not saying that  adding some supplements to your diet wont help, because they might. But the medications have been the only thing that have been proven through extensive research to be helpful. That is why doctors are sending us out with perscriptions for them. They get paid for the office visit whether they give you a script or a hello/thank you/goodbye and nothing else.  Unfortunatly, there are people out there (just like all of the magical diet pill sales) that are preying on others vulnerability. Some of them will come here and on other message boards trying to peddle their wares. We have that problem here from time to time.  Apparently they go away and  then return when there are some unsusspecting newbies. The problem is that the sales people (or Trolls as we call them), have gotten smart. Some of them are not as blunt as they used to be. Now they are subtle. Trying to act concerned while constantly and repeatedly pushing their product. One of them who has been lurking here again lately used to say he had gout. When we finally said look RA and gout are different and are treated differently, he then changed his story. Apparently now he has arthritis...and has had it for like 20  or 30 years.

All I am saying is that all of you who follow special diets or take herbals that have worked wonders for you...it is great if it works and the reason we are here is to share what works for us. But dont get too caught up in every little thing that you see or hear about. What works for one doesnt work for another. It is true of food, herbals, and drugs....Just remember, where do you see the most consistant, widespread success? Not with diets or herbals, but with the meds. That is not my opinion. It is just the facts and nothing more nothing less. I love all of you guys, yall are like my little RA web family. I dont want to see you get suckered into spending $$ on things that arent going to make a difference. If your arent sure, look it up, print it out and take it to your next dr.s appt. See what they say.

The real Trolls are those promoting drugs and saying "medications have been the only thing that have been proven through extensive research to be helpful". Pharmacaetical cos pay big bucks to many Trolls and medical providers to advertise and sending out emails. Incidentally, in one wk I received average 18 such emails. These are real Trolls and I have not received a single email promoting herbs and health foods. What a surprise!

May I ask the Trolls, what about Celebrex, all the so called Cox 2's, Vioxx etc.? Pfizer has 38,000 sales reps worldwide - the equivalent of about three US army divisions reported BusinessWeek Feb. 28,2005.

Eating more selective vege and fruits in daily diet and herbs are more affordable and far cheaper than taking drugs. A simple correct natural foods help to nourish our body and soul.

In my opinion, there are three catagories of medical providers. 1. Good, kind, sincere with integrity advising chronic patients not to take drugs. They are also authors of books like "Food Is Your Best Medicine" by Bieler, H.G., M.D.; "Live Food Juices" Kirschner, H.E., M.D.; "Why I Don't Eat Meat" Parrette, O.S., M.D. etc. 2. Their interests are to fatten the wallets providing long term drugs bombardments. 3. Some sinners that habour intentions to kill patients slowly. There were many news about wrong and dangerous drugs used purposedly not to address the diseases/treatments but to kill for benefits. Recently I watched TV about cheap Botok being used by some US doctors to cash in on big bucks. Many Hollywood personalities fell victims. Some of the victims have been paralysed, in life threatening situations and some died.

Medical research has been directed mainly toward the treatment of symptoms. Drugs are treating the symptoms like inflammation and pain, not the disease.

Natural foods and herbs address the root of the disease and gradually nourish the body system to healthiness to fight the disease. Natural foods are our daily diet, the only difference is we eat correctly and selectively. The diet is simple and of course, it is cheaper and great savings compared to other appetising foods and drugs. Dr. Bieler's three basic conclusions in "Food is Your Best Medicine" are the first, primary caused of disease is not germs but is the cause of a toxemia. His second, is that in almost all cases the use of drugs in treating patients is harmful. Drugs often cause serious side effects and sometimes even create new diseases. The dubious benefits they afford the patient are at best temporary. His third, is that disease can be cured through the proper use of correct & healthy foods.

Thanks Gena! I am thinking the same thing. I really love the field I am going in, so going back to school is actually exciting for me. I only think those bad thoughts for a second. I am in a job right now that I am over qualified for. It had no benefits, no pension, no vacation pay. I already have a BA degree from a university, but my job only requires a grade nine education. Kind of wasting my four years of university. So, getting out and doing something with it will be very rewarding. This RA is just who I am now. But I am still the same person, so it won't stop me from getting my goals. My friend Sean even made me dream bigger last night when he called. He said that once I get my masters in science in nuclear med, why stop there? While working, I could be working towards my PhD! Which is true. You can earn it while working, and it only takes another two years or so. I will be working anyway.
