switch enbrel to humira | Arthritis Information

My doctor took me off Enbrel and switched me to Humira. I've only taken one dose hence, but am experiencing pain on the level as if I were on no meds. I asked him if it took time to present improvement and he said No, so I'm wondering if that answer he gave me was incorrect. I went and researched the answer on the humira website but found nothing conclusive regarding its potency time. I recently stopped Methotrexate for the 2nd time this year. My liver function tests were coming back abnormal, so anyone out there who takes it, don't forget about your Folic Acid. Having said that - I'd appreciate feedback about Humira.  RA for 16 years.

savingtess38849.5887615741I'm on MTX - my doctor wanted to put me on Humira, because she believes it starts to work in a month rather than 3 months. So I think it takes some time - just not as much time as MTX. Thanks for your post. I too, don't think it works right away, but that it takes some time. My doctor always seems like he's late for a very important gathering, and it puts stress on me when it comes to asking questions etc.  I'm just taking ibuprofen until the Humira starts to work. I sure hope it doesn't take too long though - the Enbrel worked well at controlling my every day pain, but I was still having pretty bad flares... so I guess we'll see. Thanks again!Tess,  My rd wants to change me from Enbrel to Humira.  I am reluctant because I do improve with my Enbrel - just not enough to live a normal life - the life I was used to.  BUT..............  I am sick of being a guinea pig.  Enbrel does give me relief, I don't want to mess with it.  Every time they take me off it, it is less effective - also, it is the one that is supposed to be the best without mtx.  I have tried and tried with mtx, my body cannot tolerate it

woobie

I haven't been in Enbrel, but I am in Humira (started two months ago) and MTX. It is going quite well for me, I have to say, I am quite happy, dancing around and everything, no pains in the morning!! But also I wasn't totally bad when I started.

I am still taking some Prenidsolone (not sure how to spell it), but I would like to stop, maybe all change by then.
