Any thoughts on Celebrex?I really never saw anything with celebrex until I ran out before I could pick up more, and I WILL not let that happen again. So you found it to work better than Alieve or Ibuprofen? Most definetly!! If I run out I know it for sure within a couple of days. Sometimes I'm like Billy and wonder if it is actually doing anything. A couple of days without it reminds me how much it really is doing. Ibuprofen is nowhere near as good for me.Alieve and ibuprofen might as well be candy for me. Of course some of the stuff that's been prescribed didn't work either, but we keep trying to find something. If those work for you, keep at it. A little relief is a whole lot better than none.I started Celebrex a week & a half ago, Crunchy. I was on naproxen - it wasn't doing anything. The Celebrex definitely helps.
Been on Celebrex for 6 years and yes it helps. Celebrex if taken daily not only helps pain but also inflammation. I notice a difference if I don't take it. Tried to cut the dosage from 400 mg. daily to 200 mg. and I noticed that morning pain and stiffness was worse. Went back to 400 mg. and hopefully if the Remicade infus. kicks in I can stop Celebrex. If you have a cardiac history your Dr. won't prescribe Celebrex. Can cause stomach problems also. So far I've had no problems.Maybe you could just call and request it? He's likely to just call it in for you.How far away is he from your house? My RD gave me a sample box to try it out, & I'm thinking your doctor could do that, too.
I have been on Naproxen, ibuprofen and Celebrex. I have found that only Celebrex Works. Naproxen worked some, but mostly just ruined the lining of my stomach, didn't do much for inflammation. Celebrex not only helps in the knees etc. but I found out I was having breathing problems and had inflammation in my chest as well. Celebrex took the thick breathing away, for the first time ever, I can hold a long note singing etc. something I never could do before. My doctor told me to try naproxen again, she said it was every bit as good, worked just as hard and doesn't cause stomach problems that it must have been the prednisone causing it. So, I tried naproxen again, I flaired up horribly and my stomach got gastritis again, it just ruined my stomach lining again. I like how celebrex works on me.
