For guys... | Arthritis Information

Has anyone else experienced the feelings of a hard sunburn  on the skin and hair.  This started right before the Enbrel and is still continuing with the remicaid.  The skin and hair on my arms is enough to beg for relief, but the skin and hair on my legs is enough to make me want to curl up into a corner and scream.  And the rest of the skin and hair on my body isn't far behind.  Is this normal with this crap.  I am still new at this, and everyday is still a surprise, I appreciate the remicade since the enbel didn't do anything for me, an d I do feel the new treatment doing something.  I'm still off of work, and I can't wait to get back to work, but everytime I turn around, I have something biting me in the A**.

billyws38856.7131481481You might get more responses if you didn't put "For Guys" in the topic line.  We all feel the same RA, whether it's a man or women.  Get off the "male only" thing.  Us women feel the same things you do!I had that feeling a few weeks ago. It was weird and I am not taking anything but ibuprophen. I have never had that feeling before and I hope I don't again.sorry for the guys only.  I don't know sometimes.  I'm just about at the end of my rope with this.  on top of everything else, I swear I've thrown up everything I've ate over the last few years today.  this has to stop.  I never stopped to think the hair and skin thing would apply to guys and girls.  Sorry for the guys only.  Going crazy here. can't hardly type wi5h hands anymore, i've had it!!!

Have you told your doctor about the skin and hair? If so, what did he/she say?

I am very sensitive to the sun since I came down with this illness. I think it was making sick a long time before the other symptoms showed up.

What concerns me though about your description is the possibility of it being an allergic reaction.

I think you need to call the doc. It isn't normal and either the medicine is doing it or you may have a form of vasculitis like I do.

I know it's driving you crazy. There are not any easy answers.

If you have a rash or trouble breathing, go to the ER. Then it is highly liking you are having an allergic reaction.

Thanks deanna.  I haven't really talked to my dr about this specifically.  If it's an allergic reaction, it started before I started enbrel.  I am worried, more so when I feel like this.  As for the guys posting, sorry about that again, I just don't know any women with the amount of hair on their bodies that men have.  No disrespect intended.

Some people are also allergic to prednisone. Practically any medicine will cause someone an allergic reaction. I hoping it's that and not something else.

Everyone on this site is scared and in pain. That's our normal. We are all waiting for this news, this help or this doctor's call. That is the one thing that is standard -- waiting-- and patience is awfully hard to come by. We all struggle with it.

Don't panic. Think about exactly what is happening. Go by your instincts. You can call doctors on the weekend. You can go to Urgent Care or to the ER. If you feel that you are in peril, get it checked immediately. If you feel like you just need to see the doc, get into the office right away -- on Monday. But some doctor needs to examine you while this is going on. They have to see what is happening to you.

You might try putting ice on a spot and see if that helps relieve it in the meantime. Benadryl is often used for allergic reactions. But I would definitely call my doctor before taking that becaise you don't need any drug interactions.

The situation can be handled, but you need some help. Now, go get it.

Billy, if you are also throwing up so much, go to the ER. You can easily dehydrate. A doctor needs to look at you. Something is not right.
