Mobic | Arthritis Information

I have SLE, and have been taking 7.5mg Mobic 2x
daily for 10 years. Recently my insurance decided
they would not cover the 7.5mg pills, so I must take a
15mg pill once a day (still namebrand). I have been
sick ever since (3 weeks) with low grade fevers and
aches. Has anyone ever found a difference between
the quality of the pills? I feel a little suspicious
because the 15 mg pills cost the same price per pill
as the 7.5mg pills--that's why my insurance insists
that I get these.

Thanks,

Ayla

I'm on Mobic and have never had any problems, but also no adjustments in dosage. But you really shouldn't be running fevers with it. Call the pharmacy or your doctor.

You could have an infection going on and your other medicines could be masking it. Any time you have a fever if you are on any immune depressive medications, you should contact your doctor. I have had sinus and ear infections and have had only a fever or a slight headache as a symptom. It took forever to clear them up, so I am extra cautious.

If it is the Mobic itself, the pharmacy can tell you that.

Hope you feel better.

I'm not familiar with what Mobic looks like...is it a pill that is scored so you can split it in half and continue with your 2 separate doses?Mine are scored. That does seem rather unusual that you would have those symptoms as a result of the dose increase. Call your doctor. It's just another case where an insurance company is practicing medicine. They don't have to live with the consequences; we do.
