Tendon problems | Arthritis Information

I guess tendonitis is a common problem with RA. I have it my shoulder and I was wondering if others have the problem and what kind of experience that they had with it.I don't have a lot of info about my tendonitis...just that it comes and goes..a lot of a burning sensation to it as well.I've had it in my wrist & elbow! Boy is it painful. I had a red streak going up my arm, swelling, burning, warm to the touch, oh and painful. The Dr.'s wrapped it tight and had me double up on Ibuprofen. For me it lasts from a couple of weeks to a month & 1/2. Yippie, another gift of RA. Take care, hopefully yours won't last long.

Have tendonitis in my shoulder.

One of RA's gifts!!!  Have had it in my hands and elbows also.

I have a little more involvement than just the tendonitis. I have a bone spur and a bone cyst. Evidently they are also treating it for a rotator cuff tear.

The pain is horrible and has been going on a long time. Physical therapy is helping some. TENs is helping some. But I was wondering if our tendons weaken over time with this disease.

Evidently, the consensus is that this pain isn't going to resolve. I have to just learn to cope with it. Even surgery isn't an option. And, sometimes, I hurt bad enough to want that.

I was hoping someone had more info than what I've been able to get.

Deanna, hey.

Tendon pain is my most prominent RA symptom. Never have joint pain, always hurts elsewhere. Like Achilles, forearm, top of hands, from wrist to finger.

"We" don't call it tendonitis, it's RA. I would love to hear from anyone else with similar type of RA.

Take care!

I already have joint pain in five major joints and minor ones as well. My understanding that tendonitis is inflammation of the tendons. Do they do anything different to treat yours?

Treatment is the same and I think that the Enbrel has helped to a great extent. The only joint with any probs is the left first toe. Had a bone spur removed back in late 05. Seems to be coming back, damn!!

I'm on predinsone, MTX, plaquenil, and Enbrel. Still developing more problems. Remicade really helped but I can't get it with my insurance.

I just don't feel like Enbrel does anything for me. Of course, my doc would be happier if I cut my hours more. He said that would help. Think he would pay my bills then. Oh right, I have to pay his.
